The past couple of days, I have been really digging deep for some sleepers in this upcoming draft and I ran across David Perkins of Illinois State. Obviously never heard of the guy, so I checked out some highlights/film and I have to say I was impressed! He transferred from Ohio State after his freshman season.
First thing that stands out is that he is a great athlete. He played against some easy competition, but he was putting the speed and the moves on these tackles pretty easily. If his game does somehow translate to the NFL, I can totally picture him fitting into our defense.
He does have a slightly small frame (sort of looks like Alex McCallister), but he's an intriguing guy to me. Anyone else ever hear of him? Could be another Larry Hart (ew) or a John Brown type (Pittsburgh State).
Check his stuff out on YouTube!
