Quote:Even before the signing of Morris, it would have been a god awful pick. If Elliott was Gurley, I'd think about it, but he isn't anywhere close to Gurley.
I dont think he is that far off from Gurley.  Gurley, Richardson, McFadden, Petterson, and Elliot are the 5 RBs over the last 10 years or so who I think are on a different tier than the others.  I would put Elliot with those guys.  We know how it turned out with Richardson but the guy was an elite RB prospect and McFadden just couldnt stay healthy.

I'd definitely have Elliott higher than Richardson and McFadden, but he'd still be a decent bit behind Gurley imo. I wasn't that high on Richardson, or McFadden regardless.

I'd rather get a guy like Devontae Booker in round 2, or 3 over Elliott at #4, or even top 20.

lol, of couse you wasnt now when you can look back at their NFL careers lol.  Richardson and McFadden were both elite prospects at the RB position.  If D Mac could of stayed healthy he would of easily been one of the top backs in the league since he was drafted, just couldnt stay healthy.

No, even then.

I'm not a fan of drafting RBs in the top 5. There's way too much value in RBs later on in the draft, than early in this day and age of NFL football.

I agree, no one ever argued that.  Its easy now in hindsight to say you didnt like Richardson and McFadden as RB prospects.
This makes me think even more now that the Cowgirls drafts Jack

"I don't believe the Dallas Cowboys will draft Joey Bosa," Zierlein said on The Pick Is In podcast. "I've heard that they're not in love with Joey Bosa. I don't think Joey Bosa is going to be a Cowboy."

Id be more than happy with Bosa though if Dallas takes Jack

I read the Cowboys are on Buckner.

I could see Jerrah ruining it for us and drafting Jack. I don't really think there's any doubt that he would be the pick for us at this point if he were there at 5. I don't think he will be.
That's what makes the draft so exciting every year. Most fans have no idea who their teams will select. Last year, Jag fans weren't sure if they would take Williams, Fowler or even Cooper. The year before, most did not expect Bortles to be the pick. Other than the top two teams this year (Titans take Tunsil and Browns take Goff or Wentz), the rest of the draft is unknown. Chargers could take any one of 5 players (Ramsay, Bosa, Stanley, Buckner or Jack) while the Cowboys would consider all those players except Stanley and you could add Elliot and even Wentz if the Browns take Goff.

That leaves the Jaguars with at least 2 or 3 good options. Although most on this board prefer Jack, it is quite possible that either Bosa, Ramsay, Buckner or Spence ( one is likely to be Jaguars pick if Jack is not available) could end up better players than Jack. That's why I'll be o.k. with any of those alternatives even though I also prefer Jack. We won't know for at least a couple years (like with Bortles) if we ended up with the right guy.

Lot of mocks had us taking Fowler last year. The trend i see with dave after his first draft is players with high ceilings. Bortles was very raw coming out but his upside was never a question imo even tho most of us were on the teddy/manziel bandwagon. Same with Fowler. Quite a few people were not as high on Fowler as dave was but the point stands. Fowler has a high ceiling. So again i wouldn't be surprised if we drafted Jack because imo he has one of the highest ceilings in the draft.

On a side note, my updated madden roster has us at 83, the pats at 85...im just sayin...championship! Happy easter my jag brethren!
I think the highest Elliott can go is to Philly.

What do they have Malik rated at? What about blake and arob? Id check myself but I didnt renew my xbox membership.
Nah if hes on the board Take Bosa.
This makes sense to me

1. Titans - want to protect their franchise QB and Tunsil is rated very highly

2. Browns - are going to draft a QB

3. Chargers - Ramsey is rated as the top player in the draft and they just lost Weddle.  If not Ramsey, they need an OL to help protect Rivers.  Their offensive line is horrible

4. Cowboys - Need a pass rusher and Bosa is the pick

5. That brings us to the Jags.  The Jags helped themselves in the DL signing Jackson and get Fowler and Marks back from injury.  They helped their secondary with Gipson and Prince.  The need a more athletic linebacker to defend against great TE's.  So Jack is a perfect fit.

I like the idea of Jack and Telvin flying around on defense. Automatic 1st downs on RB screens will be a thing of the past.
My hope is that if jack or bosa is there at our pick then Dave couldn't call that pick in quick enough. I would be happy with either one. More Jack than bosa but that's just me.

He's pretty close.
