I too would be happy with four guys who are likely to go in the 1st round!
I wouldn't pass up Jack if he is there.

TRU!

Yeah but with the OP's haul it's all day!

I dont even need next year's 2nd. I like swapping 5 for the midteen pick and two rather early 2nd rounders to go with our current second. Dave could run a Boston on they BLEEEEP!
WJ3 will def not be there
Long time lurker here. If the Jags go Jack at #5, would you be opposed to them grabbing Jaylon in the third if he's still available? Our linebackers would be downright scary in 2017.
For the edge rushers...
Lawson won't make it to 1-15 as is mocked in this trade scenario. It's 50/50 if Spence makes it to this spot. Floyd is highly likely to still be there.

I wouldn't be opposed to it so long as the knee checks out. This team has a lot of other areas to address so they would need to be fairly confident in that he would return 100%.

Absolutely. I saw on NFL network that they said he could be like Lattimore (RB South Carolina SF drafted) that never heal right or be like AP ( I believe was the example) and come back just as strong.

That's true about next years second, I figured the #5 was valued more.

Who do you think takes him and/or spence in your mock before #15. Just curious. I would take Floyd then the same. Young man just needs to add some weight. Thanks

You mentioned a lot of needs, can you tell me your opinion on what you think we need besides the DE, LB and CB. Thanks
If Jack is available, what pick value would you be ok with us taking in exchange of selecting him

I have been wrestling with the Jaylon Smith question all offseason.
From a Jaguars/Gus Bradley/Dave Caldwell perspective, the win now mandate from Khan would seem to preclude such a move. However, before the injury, Smith was "my guy" and a sure fire top 5 selection. From a longer term perspective, if there were legitimate hope/guarantee he would get back to 100% f his pre injury form by 2017, I might take a chance on him if he's there in the 3rd, especially if we have traded down and accumulated extra picks in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th rounds.
RE Jaylon, Jags North, I am not a fan of drafting injured players. The Colvin fans will jump all over me, I know, but that's OK. 5th round or later, maybe, but I'd rather have 100% healthy and ready to go, Especially in the 3rd round. Fire away, boys.

The edge rushers are in vogue now, after the Super Bowl (and seeing the contracts in FA). From picks 6-14, there a number of teams that may consider a player like Lawson (and/or Spence), namely Philly (8), Bucs (9), Giants (10), Bears (11), and even Dolphins at 13. The Dolphins signed Williams, but lost Olivier and Shelby in FA...and Wake is old and trying to come back from a torn achilles injury.

I consider our needs:
DE
CB
LB
C/G
Some other areas that may need addressing
SS- Cyp/Sample hasn't solidified themselves as starting quality. Gipson will tweak the SS role so we will see.
Backup FS
I think we need to go LB (Mack), DE (best fit available) / C (Ryan Kelly), CB (best available). I know Fowler is a rookie coming off injury, but he would be a, if not the top edge rusher in this draft. Between Fowler, Malik and a hopefully healthy Marks, I think we can address the pass rush a little later (Nassib in the 3rd?) and focus on our linebackers. Mack would be a huge steal at #5, and would be a leader on the D side of the ball. I would love to grab Kelly to give us stability on the O line for the next few years. It sounds like he's a leader on and off the field. In a perfect world, I'd like the jags to trade up and get another 2nd/3rd and grab Jaylon Smith. If healthy, he'd be a top 10 pick, and is worth the gamble IMO.
Fowler would probably be 4th on the edge rusher list year behind Bosa/Spence/Lawson.

Fowler and Bosa are close but I still think teams would have Fowler over anyone in this class. If Bosa Spence and Lawson were in last years class Bosa would be the only player in the top 10. Bosa is a better prospect than Beasley though. Beasly, Spence, and Lawson are all close
