Sweet! So we get 2 first round picks next year!

I'd be ok with this. At least they're getting some value out of their pick instead of just flat reaching.

Would be cool with me. Carolina is a likely trade partner too if they really like Fournette.

I am definitely in favor of a trade down to either Carolina (8) or Cleveland (12). By adding an extra 2nd round pick, they can address 4 needs in rounds 1-3. I would be happy with either of these 2 options:
Rd. 1 (8)- O.J. Howard
2 - Alvin Kamara and Dan Feeney
3- Demarcus Walker/Derek Rivers
OR
Rd. 1 (8) Jonathan Allen (not likely there, but he and Jackson would be amazing.)
2 . - Still Kamara and Feeney
3 Everett/Shaheen

"Jacksonville has filled a lot of holes except for quarterback and tight end,"
Sigh. Another person who doesn't understand the importance of the offensive line, and doesn't recognize the massive gaping hole we have on the offensive line.

I'd take the trade all day. Take Howard or Lamp/Robinson and I'm happy.

We don't even have a problem at QB. We had to deal with the worst HC in the NFL and an injured OL. We need to finish revamping the line and get a replacement for Parnell and the LT of the future.

That's another reason I love Dion Dawkins. You see, he'd be a day one starter at LG, or for that matter at RT. He's certainly staunch enough vs the run to play RT, although as a natural LT he'd have to get accustomed to changing his footwork for the right side. That said, Coughlin said he's fine with Parnell this season so I'd expect Dawkins to stick at LG, although he'd basically double as an emergency OT.

I think he'd be a perfect pick in round 2.
[disclaimer: Of course, it would depend on someone of greater value not dropping out of the first round unexpectedly.]

Either would be immediate starters and it will be interesting to see whom T.C./D.C. selects. Feeney seems like a more reliable Day 1 starter who can play in any scheme. The only "red flags" are that he's already had a concussion and another injury (lis franc, I believe), which cost him a lot of playing time. Based on his profile, he is definitely a Coughlin type of guy.
Dawkins has the benefit of eventually moving to tackle to replace Parnell. He seems to be a "nasty" player who excels in run-blocking. I'd be happy with either guy, but the Jags will definitely need to address this position no later than round 2 since they failed to sign any of the top-flight free agents.

Quote:I think he'd be a perfect pick in round 2.Yes, what if McKinley drops to round 2 due to his shoulder injury? He's the guy I'd love to see drop to the Jaguars if they don't take either Allen or Thomas in the 1st round. I realize he does different things, but can't see them taking 2 defensive linemen right away with their needs on offense.

The best scenerio here would be:
Trade back to pick 8 with Carolina (who wants L.F.) and take O.J. Howard unless Allen falls.
Round 2: McKinley with pick 35 and Dawkins/Feeney with Carolina's 2nd rounder.
Round 3: Definitely take a running back and maybe even trade back up to the end of the 2nd if there's a run at this position.
Why I LOVE this scenerio:
1. Jags get difference-making tight end who does it all.
2. They get the most explosive pass-rusher not named Garrett who can be worked into the rotation immediately.
3. They still get immediate upgrade on the offensive line. By adding Albert and this pick, the O. Line will be fine. Parnell should improve and if Dawkins is the pick they still have security at this position.
4. The running back class is so deep that they can still get a good one at the top of the 3rd. Kamara or Mack would be my favorites to work into the rotation with Ivory. Yeldon has been a big disappointment and his playing time will be decreased.
Coughlin significantly upgraded the defense in free agency and this draft effectively addresses all the offensive needs except for q.b. (a whole other story). Add in a potentially difference-making pass rusher and the Jaguars win another draft!

If we draft that nasty running back from LSU in round 1, then pair that pick with the nasty OG who excels in run blocking, our running attack will be a lot more... nasty.
