This is a guy I think most people are sleeping on, he's an absolute freak athlete at 6'6 241 lbs (with the frame to add 10-15 lbs), he has the rare ability to bend the edge as a pass rusher and is comfortable dropping back in coverage, he was effective in that role at Georgia this past season as they played him at linebacker. Floyd will never have the bulk/strength to be a full time "hand in the dirt" DE but could thrive as a traditional linebacker on 1st/2nd down and pass rush specialist on obvious passing situations. His game projects similarly to Anthony Barr of Minnesota and Jamie Collins of New England. He's a defensive chess piece and is the kind of guy that can wreck an offensive game plan, if used properly. While I don't think he's in play at 5, he's a guy I wouldn't mind the Jags targeting if we traded down to 10-12.
I wouldn't be shocked at all. If we were in the 8-12 range, he'd be someone I'd at least consider.
Jamie Collins is an excellent comparison for him. If we traded down or back into the first, then I would love to draft Floyd.
A guy with his size and athleticism would be awesome at the OTTO spot especially since he can blitz and cover. My biggest red flag would probably be his age.

Yea I didn't realize he's almost 24 years old, that does take away some of the appeal. I agree with you on the Otto role, a guy with his skill-set would make a perfect Otto.
I heard another analyst compare and project him similar to Jason Taylor (ex-Dolphin).

My biggest red flag about using him as an OTTO would be his inability to set the edge.
On the other hand, I hope we don't get so fanatical about making players fit the scheme that we pass over better players for lesser players.
I would love to get the guy on our team. He is supposed to have exceptional pass rushing ability. We need more fast, versatile chess pieces for our defense. Guys like Dante Fowler or Myles Jack or Leonard Floyd.
I think he should be in play at 5. He is the best pure pass rusher in the draft.
I would be shocked. Floyd seriously has the build of a WR and that #84 he wore in college was perfect for his build. No way in the world could he play the OTTO position in this defense.

I'm a fan of Floyd but that's a stretch.
I think until Floyd puts some muscle and beef on that lanky frame, he will be limited to passing situations the first year.

Ziggy Ansah was at least 24 as a rookie. I say "at least" because birth certificates from Africa, especially when an athlete is involved, are not the most reliable things in the world. I'd lose sleep over a 24-year-old running back or corner, sure, but not so much a linebacker.
Isn't this the guy who couldn't finish the combine or his pro day? He's just too small to be a high pick, maybe the 2nd half of the 1st round, but to me he grades out as a 2nd rounder, he has a ton of potential but he needs some time.
Ur pushing it think. He has major Trouble sorting threw junk and finding the play even if he has crazy bend can't pick a Pass rush specialist in top 10. Teams are looking for every down players in this range

I'm inclined to believe Ansah's age since he went to BYU and just tried out for the track team as opposed to the foreign athletes who are already pros and star athletes when they come over to the United States.
I completely agree with your last sentence though. Age isn't something you should really get too hung up with in the evaluation process unless the player is already in their prime, say 26-27, which isn't too common. I'd consider it more of a tiebreaker between similarly graded out players than an larger factor for evaluation.
He might be in play at 5!

Ironically his nickname is "The Freak".
Just watched YouTube highlights,as a pass rusher off the edge, he is relentless, quick, fast, scary, intimidating, nasty. Welcome to Jacksonville, the next Lawrence Taylor.
How upset would you be if the Jaguars traded up with the Cowboys to draft Jalen Ramsey?
QB-Goff to the Rams, Wentz to the Eagles, Elliott to Miami in a trade with Chargers or Buckner to Chargers, Jaguars give up this years 2nd round pick and next years 3rd?
<a class="bbc_url" href='http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000650165/article/jameis-winston-i-will-take-a-pay-cut-to-play-with-jalen-ramsey' title="External link">http://www.nfl.com/n...th-jalen-ramsey</a>
"People talk about his position. But Jalen is the best cornerback, safety ... I will take a pay cut to play with him again. He has a fierce mentality. And the best thing about him is he is a Seminole! I have already shot (Bucs GM Jason Licht) some texts."

Terrible. No way would I give up a 2nd to go up 2 spots...AND a 3rd next year?
Give me one of Buckner/Bosa/Jack (if he clears)/Floyd/Lawson and our picks.
