I think it's most likely this. Just like the old guard that pushed back so hard against the moneyball baseball analytics movement 15 years ago, he is trying his best to push back and belittle the "twitterscouts" analytical revolution that is happening in football right now.
Disparage PFF/FO/numberfire/#FP# etc. all you want, but it's not going away...quite the opposite in fact.
Quote:Hopefully the Browns and other teams share that same view. That means an impact defender(s) will be there for us to choose from.
Ha thats actually the only reason i care about this! Go Browns........ Chargers and/or Cowboys do something stupid to help haha

Actually the wanna be twitter scouts are more wrong than they are right. The just ride each others coat tail. When one goes with something, the others follow. You should know that by now. You were one of the ones that were saying if you take away the Jokes last game of the season he wasnt bad overall. You also believe all of pffs grades, so where does this fall? It cant be both, it shows he sucked which reflected his poor grade.

Assuming Tunsil and QB goes 1-2 and if a team trades up for a QB or Buckner is selected 3/4, we will have our choice between 2 of Jack/Ramsey/Bosa. I'd prefer to let Caldwell pick his guy then being left with just 1.

No doubt! when Caldwell picks his guy it seems to work pretty well..... Remember when Bortles was a reach? Lets hope the draft falls in our favor for once!
It would be great if two of those three guys are available. As much as everyone loves Ramsay (with good reason), the Jags would have to take Jack and Bosa ahead of him due to the signings of Amukamara and Gipson.

He sticks to his board, there's no doubting that. I can easily see Jack or Bosa being "his guy" but of course there's no real way to know that unless they're both available.

Prior to FA Ramsey was the guy I wanted most both with Prince and Gipson signing, I'm down to Bosa and Jack. Still can't decide which one I would choose if I was in Caldwell's shoes.

I said he gave up 2 sacks prior to the Texans game, which is true. The best I have ever said about Joeckel is that he is average, which I believe is also true. I was also one of the first people, if not the first, saying to get Beachum well before we showed any interest in him, because he is far above average with elite pass protection. I don't see any contradictions in any of those statements...

LOL... I'm pretty sure I've got more knowledge/training/experience in analytics that you'll ever have.
Like Eddie Murphy nailed in his stand up... give a [guy] a rope and he thinks he's a cowboy.
The problem with analytics is that hacks who don't know how to use them properly make themselves look amateurishly silly.

But pff says otherwise. So you are going against the pff grading system which you believe in. pff shows a -22.5 pass block this year and a -20 pass block last year. Sorry but that is not average. It dont matter if the guy only gave up 2 sacks prior to the Texans game when the, the important part is 39 QB hurries. That is not average. That is probaby one of the worst in the league
Quote:Hes trying to call something in "left field" when he is there at the proday watching the guy throw in person? A lot of the stuff you say these days are in "left field".
Did you not understand that his making a statement NO ONE else is making (that they two QBs are as good or better than the pair from last year) is the very definition of a comment from out of "left field?!?!?"
If you were ready for the adult table, that wouldn't have to be explained...

So silly that 22 NFL teams (as of last season, probably even more now) work with PFF and use their analytics.

-14.5 of that was in the final game. I'd guess that -8 pass block was probably in the 14-20 range for LTs as the position is in quite rough shape overall at the moment.
I'll try to remember to recheck when I resubscribe during their offseason special offers.

So in week 16 he had a -8 grade for the season? [BLEEP] what was his grade for his last game -50 Cause the -22.5 was his average for the whole season

You can shake it how ever you want. You said the guy was average but you can throw his last game out of the window and he is still one of the worst LTs in the league and pff grade agrees. 39 hurries as an NFL LT is not average. Not even counting the sacks or QB hits
