That is the creepiest kid alive.

I haven't been too impressed with many of the things the sports council has done, but at least they've kept the game here.

I agree, although I must admit that getting the Notre Dame v Navy game here is a lot bigger than it appears.  I'd love to see them establish a College Kickoff Game like they have in Atlanta & Dallas.

The women's SEC Tourney kind of came & went with little to no publicity.  I didn't even realize it was here until the final was slated.

No offense to the womens games, but losing out on the mens baseball tourney was a big deal.  That put a lot of butts in seats downtown.  You just aren't going to pull much attendance with womens basketball.

Notre Dame/Navy was a good get....I just think the diminished level of the Gator Bowl (yes, I'm still going to call it that) is pretty sad.  It's a meaningless bowl game now.

The Gator Bowl tried to be part of the BCS. Once they lost on that in the 90's, it was pretty much over for the game. It's on par with the likes of the Music City Bowl and Belk Bowl.

Not really, they have been surpassed by the Citrus Bowl and other games.  Deals have been renegotiated since then and the Gator Bowl falls further and further behind.  Not only that, but most of the time they won't even take the two best teams available.  They will take the two teams whose fans will travel and who they think will get the most tv views.  I get that's what you want out of a bowl game, but at some point you are risking your legitimacy.  Nobody cares that you brought two absolutely awful teams here.
Bowl games were worthless before the BCS, but they have even less meaning now. Their only value now is in the extra practices. That why McElwain ran his practices the way he did in letting the guys who didn't play much or at all during the year get so much practice time, to prepare for next year. VH3 and the other guys in the secondary barely practiced at all. If the Gator Bowl wants to survive, they need to bring meaningful games here which means regular seasons games. Maybe try and bring another rivalry here?

2015- Dante Fowler JR (Florida) 1st Round

2014- Blake Bortles (Central Florida) 1st Round

*5th Round Telvin Smith (Florida State)

2013-    2nd round John Cyprien (Florida International)

    6th round Josh Evans (florida)

(*Probably shouldve drafted Jordan Reed TE (Florida))

2012 2nd round should've drafted TY Hilton (Florida International)

I dunno if you have a huge college football fan base area and you want to attract more season ticket holders why not go with a Floridian with equal talent to someone from outside of the state?

I mean take this draft for example if you have Jalen Ramsey or Vernon on the board (probably only Vernon will be there) why not take the chance on them?
