Good depth/ role type of player who probably won't get more than a relatively modest contract.

Sean Spence - LB -
Free Agent

Free agent ILB Sean Spence visited the Jaguars on Tuesday.
Spence is a backup, but only 26 (in June). He could be signed with a decent role in mind for one of the league's least impressive linebacker corps.

Depth at LB is really thin. Armbrister played a significant role each week when a starter went down, and he clearly wasn't ready. I literally have no idea about Spence and the way he plays, but I'm for more depth at that position!
I'll just copy and paste my response on hearing the news:
Quote:Spence is a guy I've liked since last year. He's somewhat of a miscast in the Steelers 3-4 defense but could possibly excel as a 4-3 OLB. Even being an odd fit he was a guy that was always around the ball and making plays.
I liked Spence coming out of Miami; was an all ACC. Injuries riddled him the first two years in the pros but he has passion, pedigree and size. 5 11, 230, 25, plays fast, good coverage skills, solid tackler, true ILB. Perhaps the bug is behind him now to make long term impact.
Definitely not a backup/role player per say, just injury ridden to start his NFL career. He's a 3rd rounder, finally saw the field in year 3, started 13 games the past 2 years.
A line-backing group of Telvin-Jack-Spence would look really good come next year....

Watch us get Buckner, lol

You should change your name if we draft Bosa
He was a tackling machine at Miami.

Haha, yeah i'll do it if that happens.
That comment from Rotoworld is spot on.
He sounds more like a MLB than an OTTO or WILL. Are they thinking of giving Poz some competition?

More like some relief. When Poz went down, Armbrister looked absolutely lost out there.
Would love a solid back up ILB! Add a back up for Telvin and Jack and our linebackers would be set
I actually like armbrister. I think the jags do too

Undrafted free agent who, when inserted into the lineup, looked totally lost. What's not to like?

That Tampa Bay game he was horrendous.

Why? I don't think he showed much of anything.
