Id admit that was a little extreme but tge fact remains this team is not in a position to trade a high 2nd round pick. Espcially with the pats. They usually come out on top with these types of deals.
That must be the new debate tactic, take one sentence out of an entire response and reply only to that portion.
Luke Joeckel and a third rounder must have been the offer.

Where does it say we tried trade with the Pats? All I've seen is the fake tweet Brklyn posted.

It wasn't a fake tweet:

<p class="" style="font-size:26px;">Also told four teams were in the mix for Chandler Jones. Haven't confirmed otherwise but told CLE Jax and GB were among interested teams.

What is Cleveland doing? They are gutting their team and going after Jones?

I wonder what it would take to get Kruger or Mingo from them.

Rumor was Dave inquired about Mingo at the trade deadline. Wouldn't mind if he inquired again.

Mingo and Willie Young seem like to realistically attainable trade possibilities.

Yup, practically our only options right now. Also Chris Long just signed with Pats.
I admittedly know very little about Mingo since he was drafted. A quick look at his stats shows very little production; 5 sacks his 1st year was his best year.

Is he being mis-used in Cleveland? Was he injured?

Lol at people saying "no thanks" and calling it a 1 year rental... like there is no chance he re-signs after that year or you like you can't use a tag on him.

If Jones was traded here you all would be going crazy.

That's season 2 on Netflix's Making a Murderer!

If you don't restructure the contract before the trade, you lose a lot of leverage. And if you are forced to tag him it means someone else might slip away in free agency next year. These decisions don't individually exist in a vacuum. The Cards might be able to extend him, but they had more leverage to do so prior to the trade than they do now which says a lot about what their priority is. Players tend to like hitting free agency.
Cooper and Linder are on opposite spectrums of the talent line.

Linder is one of the most talented guards in his draft class so that kinda narrows it down.

This makes sense for the Cards since they probably think they are real close to making the Superbowl.  Makes no sense for the Jags because they aren't making the Superbowl next year.  If the Jags don't get an edge rusher in the draft, it will be priority #1 next offseason and then they might talk to Jones.
