This would be an interesting deal for both Jacksonville and Seattle, the Seahawks are set to lose Russell Okung to free agency, and currently have no fallback plan. They have one of the best offensive line coaches in football (Tom Cable), maybe Tom (and his giant ego) thinks he can turn around the career of Joeckel. Seattle gets a former 1st round pick at a position of need while Jacksonville gets it's "LEO", it could potentially be a win-win, just a thought.

Yeah, good luck with that

You should do a couple more of these before Beachum's visit is over.

Thanks, I plan on it.

Could we get a ham sandwich for the Joke, let alone a player like Avril?

While Joeckel hasn't lived up to his draft status he's far from a "terrible player", he's a former top 5 pick with good ability. I think he's more valuable than what most people around here believe.

I can barely contain myself.
The problem with trades like that is that the other side has to answer the phone.

And Caldwell would have to get through the proposal without laughing.
Ring, Ring...

John Schneider (GM Seahawks): Hi Dave. How's it going in Seattle South?

Dave Caldwell: Good John. Got a win-win trade scenario for you...How about Cliff Avril for Luke Joeckel and a 7th round draft pick?

John Schneider: Hahahahahahahahahahaha....[click].

All of the Beachum threads!

Honestly would be less surprised to see them move kam than avril
I mean I guess there may be some trade value here as DC was able to get a late rounder for Gabbert somehow, but can't see us getting a whole lot in return.

And why would seattle do this again?
:-)

Then why trade him if we're having enough problems protecting Bortles?

If he's not good enough to protect our QB's blindside, why would he be good enough to protect Russell Wilson, much less give up one of their best pass rushers, to get him?

Exactly. Joeckel was the #2 pick in one of the worst drafts in recent memory. He is just a body at this point, and a team like Seattle wouldn't trade a good player for just a guy.

What's worse is on top of that, we'd now be dependent upon a guy coming off of a torn ACL to be the blindside protection for Bortles who would have to learn a new blocking scheme to boot.
