If we don't take Jack in the first round and we decide Smith is too risky to pick in the second, are there other linebackers we should take a look at ?

Brothers has been mentioned a few times. And how about Lee, Cravens, Scooby Wright or Deion Jones?

If Ragland fell to us in the second would you take him? (Unlikely, I know).

I'm asking because I think DC will want to improve our wafer-thin options at linebacker and while Jack would be ideal, we need a plan B.
I like Ragland Scooby (otto) Cravens (otto) in the 2nd or 3rd if they fall. It's unlikely.
Lee is awesome but he's going to go top 20. Ragland isn't going to flash but he'll be a very solid MLB for a long time, I'd take him at 38 happily but I tend to think he'll still go in the 1st.

Deion Jones in the 3rd would be very solid if he's there, but I think there will be better players available at 38.

Scooby is this year's Paul Dawson in all of the worst ways...hard pass.

I can't decide if Cravens is going to be a tiny, average athleticism linebacker or an average sized horrible athlete SS. Either way hard pass on him too.

Add some other interesting LBs like Brothers, Fackrell, Brown, and Forrest and we can find Poz's replacement on day 2 if Dave desires.

Deion Jones or Scooby outside of 2nd round
Deion Jones! We had him at the senior bowl and he was flying around. I think they really like him. Looked like Telvin out there.
Myles Killebrew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I see Su'a Cravens as more of a Strong Safety.  Mainly due to his size.

Joshua Perry in the fourth to groom behind Poz

Ok I retract my statement. After reading how he destroyed his pro day today if Dave wants him he'll have to take him at 38.
Where would Deion Jones play though? Too small for OTTO or MLB.

I think he can eventually be groomed to take over at MLB.

He's 6'1, 225 pounds

Poz is 6'2, 240 pounds
We're starting to fill most starter position guys. Once we get past round 1, maybe round 2 more likely these guys are probably going to be  in backup roles primarily. Hell, if we go LEO rd 1 or 2 they'll be backing up Fowler. Think if we could  get a guy like Deion Jones or an upgrade at OTTO it'd be welcome.

I think SS is taken care of this year, Cyp is in a make or break year and we just took Sample who did show some serious flashes and could be a nice pairing with Gipson. I'm pretty excited about Sample.

Deion ran a 4.39 at his pro day....

Keuchly is only 230. He could play MLB no problem.

Yup, and what have we been saying about what we need on our defense? More speed...

So far, we've got a freak athlete in Malik who is pretty damn fast and explosive for his size and Gipson who is a rangy ballhawk. Think Deion would be a great addition to this defense, and think we will continue to gain speed on this defense.

I think he would get swallowed up playing MLB in the NFL. Maybe a bit of added weight would help but he struggles to get off blocks in college.

If you want to get the most out of him it would be Telvins spot.

Keuchly is a freak of nature.

Where are you getting 230 from? Everywhere I've seen has him at 240+.

This is the scenario that scares me. There are 4 elite players in this draft IMO and we could potentially miss out on every one of them
