I'd be happy with Fournette at 4 and I would also be happy if we traded back to get Lamp. It's a tough call on what I would like more. Having Lamp + 2 second round picks would be ideal though, it opens up so many possibilities, OG, TE, Maybe even Kizer if we really like him. I'm on the fence on Kizer, I see it though.

I'd be sick if the titans got another trade down oppurtooonity. If a team wanted to trade up they'd surely ask them though

Quote:Yea the time in between the initial wave of FA and the draft drags by, I'm excited to have the Coughlin dynamic as well, he knows how to build a football team. I expect Tom/Dave to fortify the offensive line early in this draft, Lamp/Linder would be a dynamic combination in both the run and pass game.

It's going to be a fun draft to watch. There are numerous possibilities at 4 and slight chance for a trade down scenario.

Albert Lamp/Cann Linder Lamp/Cann Parnell would be a step forward if Lamp is as good as advertised. It won't be the best OL in the league but it should be improved.
A trade back for Lamp would be awesome.
If we trade back to 8 and Watson is there you take him.    With projections 6 to Jets and 10 with Bills.  If not  better be for Cook and Not a TE.  I can't see Lamp at 8

Quote:Yea it sounds like Robinson is moving up draft boards well, given the importance/value of the position he plays it wouldn't surprise me if he goes in the top 10-12 picks. If one wants to see the value of LT just look at the contracts the below average/average LT's got on the open market this year, Robinson has a big upside as a run blocker and pass protector.

Among OLs I'd take Lamp over Robinson, although in that 10-12 range I'd rather take Howard or McCaffery.

8 is still too high for Lamp with so much other talent on the board. I mean, hell. Watson may still be there at that point. Unless the trade value is incredible we'd likely just take Fournette and call it a day. They are pushing all the chips in on Bortles and though the tackle class is weak the guard class is decent.

I can see someone like Jonathan Allen, Hooker or Fournette falling to #8.

Lol they aren't drafting Watson or Cook
It's hard for me to consider trading down if you have an elite talent such as Fournette sitting there at #4.  But, out biggest need is on the OLine. But, in this scenario trade down to take OT Cam Robinson in the 1st to play RG/RT this year, then with two 2nd round picks take TE Njoku or Engram and G Feeney or Dawkins to man LG. Albert/Feeney/Linder/Robinson/Parnell would be your starting OL.  Then draft a C in the 3rd or 4th (Pocic/Elflein/Orlosky) to groom for a year behind Linder.  In 2018, your OL would look like this Albert/Feeney/Elflein/Linder/Robinson.  If we don't draft Fournette with the 4th pick, I really don't see us drafting a RB.  We already have Yeldon, Ivory and Grant.  We need an OL to block for them.  And to anyone who thinks we'll take Mixon, get that out of your head.  Coughlin won't go for it!

I think I would like to trade down, but this is speculation shrouded in smoke.

Looking at the trade chart, us trading back with Carolina would be equal in points if we got their 1sts and 2nd and they got our 1st and 4th rounder. We would then have picks 8, 35, and 40.

If we were to trade down with Cleveland back to pick 12 then we could pick up their 1st 2nd rounder so we would end up with picks 12, 33, and 35.

Personally, I like the Cleveland package better.
Thr only elite running back in the draft that we would have a chance to get our hands on if we pass on fournette is mixon.

Cook and McCaffrey should be gone by our 2nd round pick, and a couple of the next tier guys will be gone as well.

I'm hoping Mixon falls into our laps later.

Just my line of thinking is whoever + mixon is gonna be better than fournette + whoever.

At least in terms of projections....
This is a pretty deep draft overall so the more picks in the first 3 rounds the better.
