He's getting more guaranteed money than arguably the best defensive player in football with not even half the production. They definitely over payed for him.

With that kind of money, Vernon's going to be able to get a 3-bedroom, 1.5 bath pad in Manhattan.

We got played like chumps again. We are leverage to drive up the price that actual good teams have to pay. Not many players want to come to podunk jax to lose and disappear from relevance. Believe it or not, these athletes enjoy the spotlight.

There's a difference between over paying, and grossly over paying. Vernon got grossly over paid. I would have loved him here, but not for that. He's had one double digit sack year, two years ago.
