I believe we'll look back on the Jags in two years the same way we viewed the panthers this year. It took time-- but patience
paid off.
Why??????????

Power back who can pick up short yardage which was a huge issue last year.

You must have forgotten Shoelace's fumblitus, Gerhart failing to gain a 1/2 yard on 4 straight runs, and Grant's fumble in Tampa. Finally a short yardage/ goaline back.
I like it. I love Ivory coming off of the bench better than Gerhart, Robjnson, or Grant
But Irvin gone, and everyone thinking the Jags were going to sign him, is Ivory really a done deal?

Good sign. Now we just need some oline support to open holes!

Irvin never came out and said he was definitely going to the Jags. However, Ivory came out and said he is Jax bound.
Of the three RBs linked the the Jags (MIller, Martin, Ivory), Ivory made the most sense. Veteran likely more willing to split carries as opposed to Martin/Miller who wants to be the man AND get paid. He's also more of a power back than the other two.

Short yardage for 6 million?????? I'm just not a guy that believes in paying for backs. He's good but nothing special.

Uhhh what? He's pretty good.
Chris Ivory is the type of RB who can either help wear a Defense down as the game goes on or he can help close a game out in a 4 minute type of Offense.   At least from my perspective,  he's one of the most physical RBs in the NFL.   Though Ivory's strength isn't in the passing game,  he should make the Jaguars a better team if he indeed ends up signing with the team.

I don't think he's coming here just to be a short yardage guy.

Short yardage on the goal line will make him worth every penny.

I disagree! He was brutal catching out of the backfield last year for the jets.
Chris Ivory just had the best year of his career having 1070 yards rushing. Plus he has a nice bruising style. I don't see what the big deal is by signing him for 6 mil... him and Yeldon will probably share the carries equally.

Bortles, Robinson, Hurns, Thomas, Yeldon, Ivory? They're already saying we may be at the top of points scored next year or definitely near it.

I love this signing.

Hopefully they can get several more pieces on D including Vernon and this team is scary.

He ran for 1100 yards last season.
Did having Toby Gerhart make our cap situation much worse?  Did it hinder how we handle business?  No.

I think Toby got 5m/year here.

We're getting a far superior player to Gerhart for 1m more/year.  Chill out.

Though I didn't use the term brutal,  lets just say it's hard to envision the Jaguars using Chris Ivory on most plays when the team is in comeback mode.   On the other hand,  there's not many RBs I prefer when having a lead in the 4th QTR.
Perfect complement to TJ's running style. Great pick up
