Speculation is that he will visit with the jags sometime this week.. At 31 years old he could be a valuable asset to the team, if he can get to the qb... My question is at his age is he worth it? We have draft picks and Fowler coming bk, and we just signed Oderick last year. Will he be productive? Just feel like another Clemons to me..
He could give us a good solid year or 2. Something around 7 sacks would be ideal.
mario isnt anything like clemons
Is he worth it?  ....yes. Fowler is coming back from an ACL injury and he's unproven in the NFL.  Clemons and Branch are gone.  Odrick is a well-rounded 5 tech, but not really a pass rusher.

Pass....

Is he worth a look? Sure. I have a feeling he is going to NY though.

I have a strange feeling Jaguar fans will be left scratching their heads after this free agency period is over. Hope I am wrong.

Is they don't get their main target or targets then sure.
Yes. He was miscast in Buffalo last year. His skill set should allow him to be a productive player for another few years/

Agreed. Free agency is not a good way to fix a roster and in our case, an entire defense. I've always felt it'll take two offseasons to get it straight. We might sign one or two big names, but the rest will be like Skuta or Odrick type players.

However, Mario would be nice to bring in just because we need a veteran at the position, and Mario would be good for another couple seasons. By then, we hopefully have another LEO drafted.

Problem is, Gus doesn't have 2 more seasons to fix the defense. Another 4-5 win season and heads have to roll.
Just read he'll sign right away if he receives a deal worth $10m

Agreed. The defense is in bad shape though, so it's hard to expect the necessary improvement for us to become playoff contenders. Caldwell is a good GM though, so maybe he can make it happen.

Well, I'd sign for $10m, too. But, I don't see either of us getting tha kind of change in FA.

The defense doesn't have to be great, just not bottom of the barrel like it has been.

This is true, but I still don't think we'd be better than Houston without a comparable defense.

It has been 3. You need 5 years to fix a defense? Dave is a good GM, but he also made the decision to completely gut the roster. If this year isn't the year we win 7-11 games, I can't find a reason to bring either the GM or HC back for another year.

Dave is giving him a Ferrari, whether or not he can drive it is debateable.
I think he's worth it

I think he's worth it, sign him and let him play the "Michael Bennett" role, rush him inside and outside, the guy is still a freak and matchup nightmare.

At his old age he will help with our Super Bowl run this upcoming season. You can never have enough pass rushing DEs being rotated so they are fresh and well rested to rush the passer. Chhhhhammmppppiiioonnshiiiiippp.
