Quote:Head cook (because best run catching rb)

Heart Watson (cause bortles had enough chances and this guy wins)

Gut trade up for Garrett. (Because tom loves pass rushers and the others are question marks)

Cleveland would cause in rebuild mode and Garrett already said didn't want to play for them. Joking or not. They rather get more picks.
Do you realize how much we would have to give up to get the #1 pick? There is a formula that basically all teams use to determine the value of a draft pick.

We could swap first rounders and still need 1200 more points of value. We wouldn't even get that if we traded the rest of this years draft. That's crazy. Remember how much the Giants had to give up to get Eli Manning?

Quote:TTR, Your absolutely out of your mind if you think we are trading up to #1 overall.
I may be.  But 4 to 1 they won't ask for much.  Because loaded up with other draft picks.  And still have to pay everyone.  Even with their huge cap.  Still don't want to increase it.

True but can throw in next years first.  Or a player for it plus. We have seen Cleveland take crazier things.  We could trade Henne who is better than Osweiler.

Cleveland doesn't want Henne and there is no way we trade next year's first rounder. If we do that and Bortles has another bad year, we'd have no ammunition to get a good franchise QB from that talented draft class.

I don't think we have anything they would want that we are willing to part with at the moment. Nobody wants Henne.

My honest opinion is that no draft pick is worth 2 1st round draft picks. We've seen teams mortgage their future to get high picks and so often it works out badly. Ricky Williams, RG3 are the big ones that come to mind. There is a value in not putting all your eggs in one basket. One player can flop or get hurt, 2 is a lot less likely.

And as was pointed out, what if Blake flops again and we need a QB next year? You want to give that pick up for Garrett?

Say Garrett is JJ Watt. Fournette is Peterson, and Darnold is Peyton.

You really going to trade Peterson and Manning for Watt? Absolutely not, and that's potentially what we could be doing by trading up for Garrett. It's not going to happen.
Well without that monster passrusher you will not win the Superbowl.

The Patriots didn't have anyone over 7 sacks last year and their defense was very good. I think pass rush is important but it can be a team effort.

Who was the monster pass rusher for the Pats this year?

It's ok to admit when you're wrong dude. And in this case, you were wrong.
Head- Thomas (seems like a consensus for a lot of Jags fans)

Heart- Thomas (Loved this kid all season)

Gut- Fournette

Thats the point. We dint have A tom brady nor a monster passrusher.

So we wont beat the Pats or equivalent in SB

You said you need a monster pass rusher to win the SB. You didn't say the JAGS need one and other teams don't.

You don't mortgage your entire future for a pass rusher. Especially when you may need a QB in a year. There's WAY too much talent in this draft to give up picks for one guy. I don't care if he's Reggie White.

Why are we waiting till 2018 again? Just cause?

What future? We have yet to have a winning season since 2007.

Quote:Who does your head say we will draft? Who does your heart want us to draft? What does your gut tell you who we'll draft?

Head: Fournette

Heart: Fournette

Gut: Fournette

Head: Leonard Fournette

Reasoning: I am presuming that all three BAP's on defense will be gone. Garrett - Allen - Thomas in that order. That would logically leave us with maybe the BAP on offense right now at also a position of need. It makes a lot of sense.

Heart: Trade Down With The New York Giants for No. 23rd (Select Ryan Ramczyk - OT), 55th (Select DeMarcus Walker - DE), 87th (Select Brian Hill - RB) & next year's 2ND RD pick.

Reasoning: We need a lot of help still on this roster. And we could certainly use some help on the offensive line. Especially the right side. And even with Albert here you're still kicking the tires on a guy that's over the hill.

Giving the Giants the ability to take Fournette on a team that's play-off ready in exchange for three extra picks and a swap around in RD1 could go a long way.

In this scenario we land Ramcyzk who slips behind Bolles at OT due to hip concerns. We can still address the offensive line further more early on in day two with our own 2ND RD pick.

And we pick-up Walker at DE who I think could be a solid rotational player as a rookie and we also pick-up Hill at RB who could be a starter in RD3.

Having another pick in RD2 of next year's draft also gives us the ammunition to package a pair of day two picks to move up into RD1 next year in 2018 for potentially a new franchise QB (Only if Bortles flounders of course) or a big name receiver or linebacker in the event we can't resign all of 2014's draft class.

Gut: Derek Barnett

Reasoning: Solid player off the edge man. He's been creeping up most draft boards and mock drafts. So much as far into the top ten. Taking him doesn't bother me if we end up losing out on Thomas and Allen. Barnett in his own right held it down for three straight years and got better and better every year for the Vol's. I actually really, really like this kid.

We're not waiting until 2018. But you can't forget that there is a future for just one player. Regardless of how bad we've been.

One dominant pass rusher isn't going to make us SB contenders on his own. We still have no run game, a spotty OL, and a question mark at QB.

You don't like Bortles, but you want to trade everything for a DE. So what happens if Bortles doesn't turn it around? Where do you get a QB from of you traded all of our picks and next year's 1st? Free Agency? A 40 year old Romo or the Glennon's of the world?

You have to look at both the short and long term.

You don't think ahead man. Stop looking at what's right in front of you and think for the future for a second. The QBs this year are awful. Next years class is going to have 3 potential studs.

If the Jags give up next years 1st, Blake sucks and the Jags have another 4 win season then you can kiss one of those big 3 goodbye.

Garrett is very good but you don't mortgage your future for him.

We are waiting until 2018 for a QB because this QB class stinks. Selecting one of them would be a wasted pick.

Until 2019 and everyone stinks again. How many times we go through this? Always next year.
My head tells me the Jags don't over complicate this decision and just take Allen (who I think will be there).

My heart wants them to take a chance at Howard and swing for the fences.

My gut tells me they'll take the "safe" option in Fournette.
