Wrong forum, and we already have this thread in that forum. Long story short what Bullseye said. History of the draft and questions on Ramsey make it very likely he will be there at 5 despite what the ignorant media thinks.

Yeah. I'm thinking Ramsey is more likely to be on the board at #5 than to not be there. 

 

I'm onboard for Jack, Ramsey or Bosa with the pick.  Good chance we have a shot a one of them. 

Jack or Buckner! Especially if Bosa is gone to!

Bosa is going to BEAST! Im good with him, Marks, Miller, Fowler as our front four. Then we still got Odrick and Abry.. Oh, amd Bennett so to keep those guys fresh.


My question is in the D backfield. What role will Sample play? Can we sign a couple of good veteran CB's?

Gus was asked in a interview the other day is there one guy who he feels can have a break out year this year and he said quickly off the top of his mind Bennett.  Said he started slow last year as a rookie but started to look really good at the end of the year.

I want Jack,  Still not sold on Ramsey I'm okay if he is the pick though.  This system needs a Safety many think he can be and those guys don't come along often, I wouldn't mind doubling up and getting the Clemson safety TJ Green in the 3rd or trading back into the late second to get him.  Every other pick should be Dline, which is good because the draft is deep there.


ideally..   for me  Jack (1st)  TJ Green (3rd-4th)   These two guys give us an immediate speed increase straight down the middle of the defense.


Ramsey would give us speed and power we don't have at FS .


I'm not really high on the top edge rushers this year, but the depth is nice at those positions

I would exactly call drafting Jack at 5 as settling.

Yea I think Bennett is gonna be a solid DT rotation player, hope this year he can get a chance to play with Marks and learn from him, they are both similar DT's

They would all be good even is Ramsey is on the board.  Its not like Ramsey is far and away the better prospect.  If he is the best defensive prospect is even questionable.  I would take Jack, Bosa, and VH3 over him because if we drafted Ramsey I think he would play safety and I dont even think he is the best safety in the draft.  Most people that have him ranked high on their board have him as a corner.  Karl Joseph is the best safety in the draft IMO.  He is more of a play maker and he hits harder as well and we could possibly get him in the 2nd.  Or if Dave really wants him trade to the bottom of the 1st to make sure he gets his guy

Spence- Good player, but with his off the field issues it's a big red flag. We've been burnt on players getting in trouble in the pass , I don't want to go through that again. So I think Spence is a PASS.


Jack- Really great talent, but he isn't a pass rusher just an LB. With the way this franchise love Poz so damn much, I don't think they take hm.


Buckner- That only leaves of with Buckner, he'll probably be the guy. He won't be a big impact player on the D I don't think, but he will be the best available


What say you fellow Jags fans ?

The film doesn't lie regardless of what he did in his underwear. He's not an elite FS or a corner, he's an elite athlete. Be honest about his skills on the field. Search your feelings. You know the truth.

He will be there at 5.

LOL.  I'm just messing with you. I find your obsession with him odd and entertaining. 

 

My honest feelings are that he'll probably make a good free safety in the Jags' scheme. Maybe not one that's worthy of #5 (outside of a few freakshow plays here and there)  but he'd be an immediate major upgrade at a position of need.  So I'd be OK with the pick. 

 

If they rank another need higher and can't address it in FA  - then they won't pick him. I'm resting easy knowing we will likely see the Jags take a really good player at #5

Hmmm didn't know this... I still want him if there but to play FS. I have to say I'm warming up to the thought of VH3. He's bigger them I thought and he has ball skills.
