I thought The Revenant was disappointing.  Probably because I read the book.

Probably a "career achievement" award more than anything for DiCrappy-0

 

He's decent.  I just don't think he's anything special.  It's funny how playing a certain role can launch a career.

 

Gilbert Grape made him, just as Sling Blade did Billy Bob.

 

People fawn over your "breakthrough" role, then you're good as gold in Hollywood.

There are movies I didn't like him in but I still think he's talented. His constant politicizing of things gets old though.
