When a team cuts a player with any kind of cap hit, he's no longer counts among the top 51 unless his dead money is that much. At that point, the guy who was the 52nd most expensive player becomes the 51st most expensive player meaning he suddenly counts against the cap. I'm not talking about the team finding a cheap player.


 

As for cutting all those players, it sounds like Caldwell isn't even going to cut Gerhart. I was merely exploring what it would take for them to reach $100 mil under if at all possible, although it really wouldn't hurt this roster to cut every player I just mentioned. Quite frankly, they all suck.
