Been looking all over to see a glimpse of this freakish player do freakish things, especially on passing downs. Where is the tape on this kid? Where are they hiding all of his highlights?
I think YouTube has a search function.
In all seriousness though I get where your coming from even if I think its a little off.

Ramsey's still a great prospect and most teams would be delighted to have him.
We get it. You don't like Ramsey.

You definitely needed to start another thread to let us know.
Maybe he is so good they NEVER throw his way ;-)

I'm just SMH at all the Ramsey hype. Never have i heard of a top 5 or even 10 draft pick have more excuses for his value than actual tape and/or highlights. It's like being versatile is his only trait outside of having nfl measurables. I just pray for anyone but Ramsey. If he becomes a bust then what can you say? We were WOWED by his college tape?

He cant find the ball in the air playing CB or even Safety, press coverage or not; but he tackles well and has athleticism. Give me Karl Joseph who can actually cause turnovers and hit hard than just a fast good tackler who can press receivers.

Bosa, Spence, Jack, or VH3 Please, players who no matter what excel on the field. Gameplanning doesnt stop greatness. If a guy causes triple teams but doesnt get a sack every play, i guarantee he'll still have top 5 or 10 tape not top 5 or 10 excuse threads. I'm done.

Mayock spoke like this about Ramsey Yesterday, I think it's a fair assestment of the player:

According to Mayock, NFL clubs are evaluating Ramsey -- who played cornerback, nickelback and safety in college -- with some level of uncertainty about his ideal position at the NFL level.

"I think most teams would like to believe he's a corner because there's more value attached to that. Could he be Patrick Peterson, for instance? He's got length, he's got world-class speed. Even when he gets beat off the line of sscrimmage in press coverage, it's amazing to see his catch-up speed. It's like beep, beep and he's there. That's on the positive side," Mayock said.

Ramsey is among the top defensive back prospects available in the draft. All four NFL Media analysts who have published mock drafts, Mayock not among them, have projected Ramsey as a top-five pick. But that doesn't mean there aren't some scouting questions lingering about Ramsey as he enters the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis this week.

"Where I have to do more work and I think NFL teams feel like they have to also is A) Can he find the ball with his back to the quarterback? And B) Can you invest a high draft pick in a defensive back that doesn't turn the ball over regularly. He didn't get a lot of interceptions. I don't think he had any this year. That's the conversation," Mayock added. "Everbody loves him. Everybody believes in him, but what about his on-ball productions at the corner position? Everybody knows he can play free safety. With his eyes on the quarterback, would he be effective in turning the ball over more frequently using that great speed at free safety? That's the conversation. There's no knock on him there. I'm just saying that's the conversation."

Personally I'd still go with Myles Jack at 5 and draft a safety (Joseph) in the second.

When was the last time DB was drafted in the top 10 with <5 career INTs and 0 the season before he went pro?

No highlights because he's overrated. He's nowhere near a Neon Deion Sanders.

Because INTs are the be all end all stat for corners.
They are not there. The only way you take Ramsey is if Mack, Bosa, and Hargreaves is gone

I only looked in the 2000s drafts, but I didn't see any with both of those qualifiers. That said, there have been three with five or less career collegiate interceptions.

Dunta Robinson, 10th overall in 2004: 5 career interceptions

Antrel Rolle, 8th overall in 2005: 5 career interceptions (He also played a full four seasons too.)

Donte Whitner, 8th overall in 2006: 5 career interceptions

There were a decent amount of top 10 picks with single digit career interceptions and a couple just outside the top 10 with five or less as well. Ramsey would have the least amount of interceptions for a top 10 drafted DB since at least 2000 though.

I'm not saying they are, but he's being hyped up as a top 5 DB. Lack of INTs is a legitimate concern. It'd be nice to see more production out of a guy you'd have to spend a top 5 pick on to be your centerfielder.

I've watched every game of his as an FSU fan. He should have about 10+ career INTs. He has a problem with drops.

I can assure you he would not be a wasted pick if he was the pick.
Interesting how people blast Ramsey for not getting an INT this year when Jack pretty much didn't even play this year. Jack only has 1 career sack so im asumming he would play ILB which nowadays are nother hard to find. You can take the numbers for what you want but both are freakish high potential players at their positions.

Jack's sack numbers aren't a concern because he would be called on to mostly cover. I'm hoping most people realize Jack will most likely never be a big sack guy. He has zero passrush moves and pretty much gets most of his pressure from exploding through gaps (which is where being a RB helps). What should be exciting for Jag fans is we could be getting a Kuechyesque coverage LB that could finally hang with TEs, which has been a huge thorn in our side for as long as I can remember.

I have soured on Ramsey because from what I have seen he does his best work when he is closer to the LOS. I feel like you are wasting his talents by having him on the back end of the Defense (and yes his lack of turnovers is concerning). I would be more on board for drafting him and have him be a press corner and then moving him all around in the Nickel package like FSU did with him at the Star position.

They are important. You won't watch Ramsey and be wowed by his coverage skills. He's decent. He's not even Xavier Rhodes.

I blast Ramsey because nothing jumps out at me. He is just an athlete playing defensive back. I think that's basically why FSU created the star position....it's so their athletes can play around. Doesn't make any of them particular good at one thing. Ramsey is decent at corner and we ASSUME his skills will translate to free safety. We know this based on what? He played safety 1 year.

STAR POSITION = DEFENSIVE WEAPON
