Quote:and he actually has the "ball hawking" skills people speak of about Ramsey
yea and you get him in the 2nd while getting either a pass rusher or a great cover ILB in the first
Bosa had a weed suspension so I wonder if Cowboys play it safe and pass on him

I would be happy with Bosa or Jack
Can someone explain the Ramsey hype? Is it because we desperately need a FS? I remember Reggie Nelson being a much better prospect coming out and he was picked 7th.

As I said before..Smart,tough,can play anywhere in the secondary, good against the run, freaky athlete, and a good leader.
Whatever about his production,it is very easy to see why he is projected so high in the draft.

Nelson was picked 21st. But I agree he was yhe better prospect. Why he was called the eraser

Some are comparing him to Rod and Charles Woodson. He's versatile, a freak athlete and a leader.

I don't think he's being hyped as a top 5, maybe top 3, overall prospect because WE, the Jaguars, need a FS, I think he is being hyped by everyone, everywhere (not just on this board) as a top prospect, because he is.

I have a sneaky suspicion Dave will target the safety position in FA, whether it's Eric Berry or TaShaun Gibson. I just don't see the Jags investing the 5th overall pick into the back end of the defense. It wouldn't surprise me if Myles Jack, Noah Spence (his past complicates things), Bosa, and even Buckner are rated higher on their board given the needs of this team, the Jags more than anything need more disruption and speed in the front 7, give me a disruptive player that plays closer to the LOS any day of the week.
I agree with this we must have speed up front to compete with the rest of the NFL
Quote:Cowboys run a 4-3
Ah, thanks for clearing that up. Bosa would make a ton of sense then. More sense than anyone else for sure

Yes, that was what prompted this new mock. With the Cowboys' trouble at DE, and the Broncos success in the SB with their pass rush, how can Jerry Jones not try to copy that formula and boost his D-line where they are hurting. Cowboys run a 4-3, and Bosa would be perfect there. On top of that, many top prospect lists still have Bosa sitting on top. Don't see them taking LB Jack over the higher premium position of pass-rushing DE. Of course it depends what they do in Free Agency, but I don't know their cap situation without looking it up. Probably can't afford a high-profile DE free agent.
IMO, the Chargers at #3 are really the wild card now, as far as who is available for the Jags. I've seen more and more reports that protecting Rivers is their #1 priority, so that is why I say Ronnie Stanley (great pass protector, not as good run blocker) will be their choice. Bosa doesn't really fit their scheme, and they need a FS with Weddle leaving, but I don't see them choosing Ramsey over the higher premium position of OT. You know Tenn will take Tunsil, and Cleveland a QB, so:
1. TEN - OT L. Tunsil
2. CLE - QB Wentz/Goff
3. S.D. - OT Stanley or Ramsey, but not Bosa or Jack
4. DAL - DE Bosa
5. JAC - that leaves us Ramsey or Jack
If Dallas does take Jack, that pushes Bosa down to us and Ramsey falls to the Ravens, which they would love.
the combine is just cementing that there is no DL prospect worth a top 4 pick. I think 1-4 are basically forced to take tackles and QBs because of position premium and lack of elite talent at the other premium position (pass rushers). A DB hasn't gone top 4 in this decade and I don't see Ramsey changing that. Right now I'm thinking:
1. Titans: Tunsil
2. Browns: Wentz
3. Chargers: Stanley
4. Cowboys: Goff
5. Jags: Ramsey

You're both confusing Nelson with Landry and Griffin that season. Those two were the best S prospects coming out.
They are the only two I'd rate higher than Ramsey.

I don't think Dallas goes QB that high. They have to take their highest rated defensive player at that point unless they are sold on Treadwell (which is sounding unlikely).
GM said if there's a franchise QB there they will take him at 4. Sounds like they are willing to go QB that high.

GM? You mean Jerry Jones?

I could see them going for Wentz if they are sure Romo has a couple years left so he could sit and learn behind him.
Otherwise, I don't see Goff doing much there. Sure, he's said to be more "ready" (as was another candidate a couple years ago,) but like that QB I don't see stardom at the NFL level.
