Difficult day for #NotreDame LB Jaylon Smith, who had his medicals. Ankle & knee nerve issues, teams believe he's out for 2016 -- at least
Jenkins would be a good Otto pick for us in the 3rd round.

My understanding about Ogbah is that he is strictly a pass rusher and not much of a run defender which is why he may fall in the draft.
Further Ogbah does not have a wide array of pass rush moves. He could fall to Pick 38.
If Bosa is Pick 5, then I still think the Jags will take Ryan Kelly at 38 even if Ogbah is also available.
That pretty much describes the LEO position.
Agreed, Jordan Jenkins is a strong side OLB prospect that can provide pass rush from the strong side.
If we can get an extra 2nd would love to grab Jaylon Smith with one

No doubt. I do think he could create some pressure from the LEO spot as well.
Seems like right now Chris Jones - DT - Mississippi State is grading out more as a Rd 3 selection than an early Rd 2 selection, so he could be there at Pick 69.

That's really rough news for Jaylon Smith. Dude was a legit stud before that injury; hopefully our team doctors are optimistic about his recovery and we could potentially land a steal in the mid rounds.

He should be a 1st rounder...and I think he will be.

I'd love to steal him in the second if teams are unsure.
I'm curious who you guys think looked good and those who didn't. I'll give mine.
Losers
Kelvin Taylor - I laughed previously in the Mock Draft thread when people had us picking him in the 6th or 7th; I just don't see how this kid is draftable. He had average to below-average numbers at Florida. He had a terrible day today at the combine. He ran in the 4.60's which is basically FB speed. His 40-time was 3rd last among RB's. His bench press was 4th worst, vertical was 4th worst, and broad was 5th worst. The position drills was even worse. He looked completely lost; plus, he dropped a lot of passes.
Vadal Alexander - I think he killed any thought by teams that he is capable of playing on the outside. He posted the 2nd worst 40-time of the day. He looked really slow and sluggish. His broad jump was near last. He looked very pedestrian in the positional drills as well.
Winners

Jason Spriggs - The kid looked very fluid in his positional drills. He showed everything scouts were looking for. On top of that he posted the top 40-time and top broad jump. His 31 reps in the bench press was also top 4. I think Spriggs made his money today; he should definitely be a 1st round selection.
Ryan Kelly - I am sure I am out on left-field on this one, but I think Ryan Kelly had a great showing. A lot of scouts have him as the 4th, 5th, or 6th best interior lineman/center; I think his performance pushes him 2nd behind Whitehair. He posted solid numbers among all the drills, had a good showing in the positional drills, and just seemed better to me than the other interior lineman prospects.

Lol what, are we talking about the same Ryan Kelly? People have been raving about Kelly all season and had him as a late 1st/early 2nd rounder for months and months. A very impressive combine so far has only cemented his lofty status.
Kevin Dodd and Vernon butler looking solid with measurements spriggs and Ervin impressed with drills

same here. if we trade down staying in top 10 we can afford to rest smith with one of the 2nd round picks.

Buzz is that teams are very worried and there's no way he's a 1st rounder anymore. More like a day 3 lottery pick. Nerve damage sometimes never heals.

It's really going to be dependent on if team doctors give his medicals an okay. For his sake, hopefully any nerve damage is minimal.

If you want a comp for Notre Dame LB Jaylon Smith's nerve damage -- it's what Marcus Lattimore was up against when he came out.

Yes, but these were the team doctors that were doing the medicals today...and the news was not good at all.
