Snacks Harrison! Underrated DT headed into FA.
I think many of us, myself included, are overlooking the potential development of Michael Bennett. He was a widely acknowledged 6th round steal last year, several rounds later than many predicted, out of Meyer's Ohio State. Some analysts felt he dropped as he was scheme limited by many teams as a 4-3 3 tech and needed to gain consistency/lower base power. He's only 22 years old, and has put on 10 pounds of good muscle since the draft, a year ago. He's very intelligent and a good athlete for a guy his size. As he acquires experience and more strength, he has a good chance to be solid interior DL.

Miller did just fine at NT, was probably our best lineman last year. Dont think we go after a NT. We need a pass rushing 3 tech to play behind Marks if we go after a DT in FA or the draft

Did I seriously read someone say Jackson was "average".

Lol outstanding.

In all seriousness though, I think he's expecting a $90 mil contract.

No.

Someone said Miller was average. Not Jackson.
Just, Joe...

I just posted a thread bout him in the new FA forum. While Roy is certainly a solid starting NT in this league, Damon would be a clear upgrade as an elite NT.

I hear you, but it's not like even the Jaguars best DL from last year can't be upgraded.

Going after a NT, as you point out, is not a "need" for this team, and Caldwell will certainly have higher prior targets the first week of free agency, however the Jaguars surely "want" to upgrade this roster wherever possible. Should Damon stick around a week looking for top dollar, the Jaguars could suddenly find themselves in the mix. Afterall, we really do have to spend FA money this offseason. It's already been pointed out the extensions for the 2014 draft class won't count toward reaching our mandatory floor by the end of this season.

Come on March 9th. I'm done with speculating about who will become a Jag.

I think DT will be addressed early in the draft. I don't think we are "ok" with DT considering we had no push from that position at all in 2015 ( Sen'Derrick hurt a ton), but you can get disruption from the middle as well as the edge.

I'm thinking 3rd we go DT

First 2 rounds we go secondary.

Lol coming from the guy who thinks Dante Fowler is a bust because he was "whooped" in a non padded practice.

Flip it IMO. DL first two then secondary. I still firmly believe a lot of our secondary struggles were the product of poor pressure up front.
Quote:Vernon Butler.
praying to everything he makes it to round 2 but its a complete fantasy

Somewhat agree.

I hope we get Gipson in FA so we can go back to back pass rushers.

Bosa and then hopefully one falls to us in the 2nd.
Feb 22, 2016 (Pre-Combine) Mock Draft first two rounds

#5.) Jalen Ramsey, CB/FS, Florida State, (if not available - Vernon Hargreaves III, CB, Florida) if neither are there Joey Bosa, DE, Ohio State

* I know the rumors say that the Jaguars are seeking a pass rusher over DB, but that would be a huge mistake.

The DBs are far too weak on this team its too big of a need & one of 2 local boys will be there at #5!

#38.) Jonathan Bullard, DE, Florida (if not available - Emmanuel Ogbah, DE, OK State, or Mackensie Alexander, CB, Clemson it is possible that all of them might go before 38).
Wish there was a cant miss 3t available
In a dream scenario vernon butler in the second and javon hargrave in the third. Thats the future interior imo
Also sheldon day Smile
