The problem with the sparq athlete metrics is not limited to, but definitely includes what you were getting at. At some point you're a good enough athlete. Scoring in the 50th percentile or the 90th percentile doesn't make a difference in most situations.
Once you're good enough to do your job, that's it. You don't need to be 99th percentile spark rating.

Those aren't good numbers for an NFL quality DT. Slightly heavier than average and far less athletic than the average NFL DT.

But what if he's not? He was good enough to beat college lineman who are probably selling cars right now, but will he beat NFL quality lineman? I would guess not terribly often. Especially with the serious work ethic concerns too.

I'm assuming Thomas is off the board and we won't be seriously considering Lattimore, Adams, and Hooker due to FA additions.
In that case Howard is comfortably the best pick we could make. He would help every facet of the offense.
I like Howard in the first round, I don't think we will be picking at 4
Switch our Brantley for Roderick Johnson and I really like it given what was available.
