So, I just watched Amanda Borges' draft analysis on Derrick Henry through Gridiron Now, saying he's hard to project as a prospect and has been mocked as early as 2nd round to the Cowboys, or as late as the 4th round. So, my question is this... If Henry's sitting there at the top of the 3rd, does Caldwell pull the trigger?

I mean, I think he'll be long gone by then, but just for fun, let's say he's there. Do you take the Heisman winner as a complement to Yeldon? That would lock down your RB corps for the next 5 years.

What happens? Thoughts...

Backup RB is not a huge need. Wasting a 3rd on a luxury would be a poor decision.
Huh?

Dude's a beast.

Should be 2nd RB taken.

Probably late first, early second.

If he is there at the top of 3 I take him. Yeldon and Henry oooh wie.

rounds 1 and 2 are likely defensive starters.

round 3 would net an offensive co-starter.

but like I said... I can't see him sniffing the 3rd.

I honestly don't understand how Yeldon goes at the top of the 2nd but Henry is mocked in the 3rd.

I think the Cowboys take him in the 2nd or 3rd which is absolutely the best place for him to go.
Good productive rotational RBs can be found in later rounds.  This team has other more pressing needs to address in rounds 1-3 than RB.

I wouldn't take any RB before the fifth given the team's needs.

This.

Aaron Green in the fifth round is my guy. Love his style for our team.
Would take Alex Collins over Henry but dont want a RB that early.  Elliot is an elite RB prospect but he wont make it out of the first.

Collins is a beast. I could see the Colts taking him actually (which would suck).

Yeah, Collins is a beast.  One of 3 RBs to rush for 1000 in his first 3 seasons with the others being Hershel Walker and Darren McFadden.  The guy has been very good consistently,  Dont see him getting past the 2nd round though

Agreed. We can say it's a luxury, but a lethal passing game and a 1-2 punch with those RB's could make our offence legitimately elite. I wouldn't say no to that, especially in the 3rd round. Filling in needs isn't the only way to make a team better.
If he was there in the 3rd, I would have think hard about it. A solid running game could do wonders not only for Blake, but the D as well. I am not in the Henry will be a sure-fire bust crowd and would love to reunite him with TJ (assuming the value is right).

I agree.  That is a high 3rd round pick.    I wouldn't spend that on a running back at this point, with all our defensive needs.   Not to mention we could use that pick on an offensive lineman.   That would do a lot more for our running game than any running back would.

Which would do more for our running game- a backup running back or a starting guard/center?   If that is our choice in the 3rd round, I take the offensive lineman.  Every draft, there are some [BLEEP] kicking guards available in the 3rd round.  AJ Cann, for example.

I personally would prefer a vet FA, such as Jeff Allen from KC and then slide Cann to C. I'd try and plug as many holes as possible in FA and then draft BAP. If Henry is there in the 3rd, you could make a good case that he would be the BAP.

Yeldon has better feet.

And hips.

I like Henry but I don't think he would be very successful here. I think other teams and schemes would better suit his style.
If the Jags blow a third-round pick on Derrick Henry, it's a very bad sign for T.J. Yeldon.
