I thought she sang the National Anthem the best ever. Definitely the best at the super bowl. Just watched it again and it gave me chills. Yes, Whitney's was great but this was different.

After watching American Horror Story: Hotel, it's hard to take her seriously though.
I thought hers was very good, but I will still have to go with Whitneys just because of the pureness of her voice when hitting all those high notes.
Disagree, Whitney's was way better. I am a bit of a traditionalist when it comes to the anthem. Just sing it without the extra long notes and adding extra to the end (singing the brave part twice, etc).

I completely agree!!

Me too.
Although I was very impressed by her voice, chill on the
enhancements.

She has one of those deceptively good voices imo.
When she first came out up until very recently, she was singing songs that really didn't show off her vocal talent (keep in mind that I'm also not a fan of her nor her music in general) but I blame that on the style of music more than anything else. No one sounds good singing "edgy/angsty" club pop. That aside, she sang the anthem very well but let's not get carried away comparing her to Whitney Houston.
I thought he was good but, Whitney is in a class of her own.
Lady Gaga was very good until the last verse, when she couldn't resist the urge to show off. Overall, though, she did a good job.
Whitney's version stands alone, especially considering the times.
Carl Lewis is still my favorite rendition.

I thought that part was tongue in cheek, just like how she opened with Bad Romance notes. Either way, she destroyed it.
It's not news that she can sing. She is a tremendous talent when it comes to that. She gets lost to many, many people because of some of her crazy off the wall ways. It's not needed. The gimmicks aren't necessary wen you have that talent.
I particularly enjoy the renditions embellished with so much forced soulful flair that it sounds nothing like the original.
She was good, Whitney was great but IMO Jennifer Hudson was the best.
Just sing the damn song, this not the place for "performance. "

I enjoyed hers too, but still have to give it to Whitney because Jennifer's was jazzed up a bit to much for my National Anthem tastes.
Brooklyn forgot the part where he dresses in her outfits and lipsings the songs in the mirror like Buffalo Bill.

It puts the lotion on its skin...
My only issue with Whitney's version was that she didn't actually sing it live. Anyone of them could have done it in a studio and had a few shots at it to get it perfect....to do it live is a whole different level.

....or else it get the hose again.....
" Aww yeah, is she a big ol fat girl" - "She's a large girl, yessir".
I think I can quote the whole movie.
