That would be an ideal scenario

Any scenario allowing for a trade down would be ideal.
In this case, are we sure Howard is the best pick. Now, I live Howard and think he'll be a great TE. In fact, with such a deep draft I'd have zero issues getting Howard and then still drafting another TE later on. It's just, is Howard really the best pick here?
Again, no problems with Howard, but I'm looking at a few available names I like even more at the 12 spot including...

- Forest Lamp
- Mitchell Trubisky
- Christian McCaffrey
- DeShone Kizer

Kizer isn't good. I am not sure why he is even being mentioned as a possible first rounder.

Oh, I think he's the best in this class.
I rank 'em,,, 1. Kizer 2. Trubisky 3. Mahomes 4. Watson 5. Peterson 6. Kaaya 7. Webb

Take it all day...
Howard or Lamp but that would be best case scenario for this to happen.

You are insane if you'd consider Kizer in the first.
It says more about the QB class than anything though.
It's like Mike Glennon being the best QB from the 2013 draft.

I'm not a fan of taking a tight end that high. I like Njoku better than Howard anyway.
I know 12 is high for a guard but if they're confident Lamp can be a 10 year, pro bowlish type G, I would pull the trigger. We need to invest in that position.
I agree that trading down is ideal. Another poster brought it up in another thread of the Saints giving us 11 and 32 for 4 which would be a great trade for us. We could pull a top guard and have 2 other high picks for BAP.

Love the trade down, but don't like the pick. Draft Forrest Lamp there and I'm a happy camper.

Njoku better than Howard?
Interesting considering I'm now liking Evan Engram over Njoku. You could argue that Howard is only the 3rd and maybe even 4th best pass catcher. ...but you're overlooking there how good of a blocker he is.

The Browns love a franchise QB so little that they won't take him at 1, but love him so much they would risk pick 2 or 3 taking him and then giving up big capital to move to 4? And if they are that crazy why not the Titans at 5 who have said they're willing to move down, they only need to jump the Jets?
Silly idea Pete.

If we trade out of the 4th pick and take a TE at 12, with Cook still on the board...
I'd be done..
I'd be done..

Must be talking about Teddy again..

If we traded that far down, I'd be much more comfortable taking Ramczyk or Lamp.

Cook a bad athlete? I know he didn't test well but cmon watch a game of his. He's electric.
With that said, I wouldn't draft him at 12 either.

At that point since we didnt get a big time G in FA, just take Lamp, Cook or McCaffrey, I just feel like TE's can be found later in this draft, we have bigger holes at G and RB then TE.
With 3 good WRs so receiving TE isnt a huge issue and we have Lewis so blocking TE is taking care of, I like Sterling and Koyack too, heck I would take Butt in the 4th and sit on him for a year.

There you go again being lazy, J-Mizzal. Just sitting on your Butt.

No to a Guard at 12. McCaffrey < Howard. No QB is worth drafting in the first round in this year's draft.
