What Happens to ‘Anti-Capitalist’ House When It’s Time to Pay Rent Is Pure Poetic Justice

Along with the candidacy of Bernie Sanders has come much talk of socialism, and what it could mean for Americans.

Well, in a communal enclave at the University of Oregon, a group of ‘anti-capitalists’ are witnessing first hand what can happen with a socialist experiment.

And the results are in: nobody can pay the rent.

Seems Norway is pretty well off for not just giving away resources to the Private sector...
socialism has become the new abortion argument, you'll never convince a socialist it's a flawed system so whats the point. Let the socialist have their corner of the world, I'll fight it here but the rest of the world seems to be infatuated with the latest form of oppression this time called socialism. Honestly lets just not bail them out when it goes belly up this time, let them stew in their misery as they all destroy their economies greek style.

Best hope at this point is to convince the idiots over here we don't need to participate in the global movement to socialism instead keep doing whats worked for over 100 years, encourage private ownership, individual responsibility and free markets.

So USA has the mega debts why? You are doing everything better no?
Speaking of Socialism, a CNN reporter when to a Bernie rally and was asking if people in the crowd if they could define socialism... They could not.

The socialist policies we have crippled this economy, we should end them immediately and right the course not plow a head full steam. That said even with our problem the dollar is by far the strongest currency the world has EVER seen. Socialism didn't build that...........

No surprise most of these idiots that want socialism only see the soft socialism is some of the European nations. They ignore what socialism has historically always evolved into. More state less individual.

Nah, it's time to get out of the way and let human nature run its course.

Burn it down.

Scatter the stones.

Salt the Earth where it stood.

Begin again.

Except... you know, that's the kind of soft socialism Bernie Sanders wants.   Democratic Socialism.  Of course people will continue spreading fear about "Evil Socialism".  The fear isn't as effective as it used to be though.  Especially since many of the things we were warned about are happening in our current capitalist system.

Thankfully we live in a country where people are free to like socialism, or like capitalism.  I don't think either system is evil.  But I don't think our current system works.  If you do -- hey more power to you.

History proves you wrong.

No semi-socialism mixed into a semi-free market will never work thats what we have now. Worse of both worlds.
Sadly this is the direction our youth has been steered.  Our country will take this same turn towards socialism in the future.  It's inevitable.  Our future is our youth and they all love Bernie Sanders.

I know it is a boring time period, but does everyone intentionally ignore The Gilded Age or is it that people know nothing about it?
So anyone explain why Norway who kept the oil in hands of the state and has a huge wealth fund and great standard of living is doing so bad.

All I've heard is how evil socialism can be...

It puts a cap on what people can accomplish, therefore hurting motivation to work harder to make more.  Also, socialism doesn't eliminate "elites" running the world, it simply reduces the amount of them (those in charge of government) and makes it only possible to become an elite if you're born into it.

Many other European countries like Greece have not done well under socialist ideals.  Scandinavia does seem like a nice place to live but it's kind of an outlier.
Is Greece really a socialist country though? A large part of their problems were borrowing lots of German money to boost their military. There's a lot more welfare spending in other countries. Greece problem was useless governance whatever the model it was using.

I just know it isn't a high success rate in history. I'm sure we will find out how wonderful it is within the next 50 years because, like i said, our youth are being conditioned by the school system to think that's it a good idea.
Like anything an extreme model whether capatilism or socialism is unlikely to be the answer. The most successful country's around the world where I would want to live have aspects of both.
