Lots of people think it. I've seen it on the news, comments flooding twitter and facebook, late night shows with those segments that make people look like the fools they are.

I don't know why this had to turn political and I'm going to stay out of it but I'd just like to say that every president is given credit and blamed for things that they do not control.  It comes with being a public figurehead.

He gets blamed for high gas prices as well.

Very true. Those are just examples of more idiots.
Oil feel under $27 a barrell today imagine if it gets down to $10?
Quote:Oil feel under $27 a barrell today imagine if it gets down to $10?

I really can't see that happening unless one more unlikely domino falls in place (saudi releasing their extra capacity, reservoir innovation that flattens decline curves, US company government assistance). Of course I also didn't think it would drop below 35$, so I'm not one to talk.

I knew this would happen when I got into O&G, but I was hoping it would hold off until my wife finished med school. Bad timing right now. Look for supermajors to have a fairly significant round of layoffs by mid year, especially in the project groups. At this point they're just trying to finish up their major projects to start getting some positive cash flow to stem the bleeding....

Yea i don't think $10 will happen, but I an see it dropping lower then $27
The Barrel it comes in now cost more than the oil

I'll say it gets to within $2 of $15 one way or the other.

US oil reserves are almost at capacity from what I've read.  Even Russia has backed off on production, so that will help slow the price decrease.

One thing about oil prices decreasing is the affect its had on ISIS.  Their major revenue stream is the sale of oil and because of the decrease in price they have had to reduce the salary of their fighters by half.  Not a good recruiting tool.

The huge oil ships are having to wait out in the bay outside of Galveston on average now for 4-5 days because of capacity being reached. About six months ago it was 2-3 and there was a time when the wait was little to none.

The market is going to shoot up today as well....it will probably push up a bit more.  Already above $30 and will climb a bit higher.
The two gas stations by my house are at $1.64. I can still remember when gas was under a buck a gallon.

Got gas today for $1.35.

Bosses wife used her Kroger fuel points and got it for $.79 a gallon.

The travesty here is I am still paying .50 more a gallon for premium than reg 87 octane. Which is more per gallon over the price of reg unleaded than it was when it was 4.00 a gallon for reg 87 octane.

Btw my car requires premium. My choice to buy it I realize this.

That does not make this still not utterly ridiculous.

Unless you're driving a high end sports car like a Ferrari or an Aston Martin, chances are your car will be fine with regular as well.
It is a tuned turbo and yes it will run on reg but not well and will backfire a lot. High compression engines really do need premium. Imo gasoline manufacturers should just drop the three blends and just make a 91 octane everyone can use. You would be suprised the amount of vehicles that need premium now.

You would be surprised at how many "late model" vehicles require higher octane fuel.  The owner's manual for my older truck (2003 model) calls for 89 octane and states that 87 octane can be substituted on a very limited basis.  I tried 87 octane and the engine knocked pretty bad.  Continued use would eventually cause pre-detonation, something that is not pretty for an engine.

The problem is, using high octane fuel in a motor not designed for it is way less efficient.  In a 2 stroke motor the results can end up disastrous.

I think that it's hovering near the bottom, but I wouldn't be shocked if it fell to $20.  It's almost time to buy.
