1. None of those guys were ever supposed to be core players
2. None of those guys were expected to be this talented
3. Caldwell knew he was signing risky young players and filler guys at twice their cost.
4. Most of the money spent is off the books
5. Thomas and Beadles are the only FA busts on this list that had a high expectation - even at that, the Jags got out of that contract and he was mildly productive at times
DC knew what he was doing, overpaying for mediocre talent. It's not at all what I would have done (obvioudly I would have built a winner by now), but I will say this was somewhat expected
