“He's been really up until the last few days and you know, the reason is that I'm doing very well and I can understand it,” Trump added. “He's been very, very nice to me — very respectful of my ideas and my whole being, he's been really terrific. And I just hope that's not a big problem.”



 
 

Him being tied to the hip with a Goldman Sachs insider as well as big oil is a big red flag for me. I would likely vote for him over anyone but Trump, but still, not good.

 

If he were getting a fat campaign contribution from GS then it would be a problem. A loan is essentially using his own money since he has to pay it back with interest. And according to the article he has already paid most of it back.

That loan from Goldman Sachs was used to fuel Ted Cruz's senate win. His wife was promoted to Managing Director of Goldman Sachs 9 days after his victory. Screams nepotism and cronyism.

Wow... How did we not knowvthis was where his wife worked?

The more i think about it the more it doesn't matter, especially if it is being repaid. The non disclosure is the problem.

Yeah, well he's selling himself as an "outsider" and a "rebel" and criticizing Trump for his "New York Values."   Turns out he's got some pretty powerful friends on Wall Street and he's not averse to taking advantage of it. 

 

The guy writes in his book (paraphrasing) "we mortgaged everything and put it all into my Senate campaign..." leaving out the part where he got a million dollar loan from Goldman Sachs.  I think it reveals him to be just another Republican politician with ties to Wall Street.   Not that there's anything wrong with that.   It's just that he's selling himself as a "man of the people." 

 

What did he do for Goldman Sachs?   What did Goldman Sachs do for him?   Legitimate questions. 

They leant him money he paid them interest. If it comes back as something other than that it might be a bigger issue. If they wanted to buy him theyd have just made a contribution.


The thing that will keep it going is the non disclosure and that perpetuates a narrative of impropriety.

Yes,  Cruz conveniently forgets to file a million dollar campaign loan from the bank his executive wife works at, who was also promoted shortly after his victory. Not a big deal.

Except that's not what happened, he took a personal loan to finance his campaign. Filled it with the senate but didn't file it correctly with the FCC. If he wasn't disclosing it he wouldn't have filled it with the senate. 

 

Why is it a problem the man had to finance his ability to run a campaign using his own equity? It wasn't a donation, and why is it a problem that his wife got a promotion? She works for Goldman Sacs perhaps they where more comfortable lending an employee money since its a bank who is in the business of making loans they believe will be repaid.

Him being a raging prick is a big red flag for me.

I thought it was no big deal, now we know he did disclose it in some way and it was a real loan against his assets. Showed off some skill putting this to rest.

So his wife has connections and an understanding about what's going on with the NAU...that's kind of cool actually. We're headed there eventually, and now we'll have someone at the top levels with a clear understanding of how this is going to work. It's about time we combine our resources into an economic powerhouse to stay competitive on a global scale. The NAU in no way relinquishes American sovereignty. It's part of a plan to create larger economic zones, and there are similar plans for the other major continents. All of this makes me like Ted Cruz even more. In fact, I'm throwing in all my marbles with him. I still like Carson, but Cruz is my new front runner.

Yuck, Ted Cruz.  If he's President, I'm leaving this country.  Luckily I don't think he has a snowballs chance in 90 degree weather of getting into the white house.

After careful consideration, I'm having a hard time finding any reason to care about this. Wood and pitch ain't free, so there will be no torches on this one from me. Also, I lost my pitchfork.
