Quote:Marks is already getting paid what he's getting paid so we don't have a choice. To get Mack to opt out of his extremely lucrative Browns contract we would have to give him yet another raise in what will be his age 30 season.

Do we want to give out the biggest center contract in history to a guy who is now over 30 coming off a very average season, just for the hope that he can return to the form he had when he was 28? There's a whole lot of downside without much upside if you go about treating free agency in that way.

But he is different and I know his name!
Quote:Sticking with Wiz and drafting a mid round center is a sensible option.

I was not inferring your statement to stick with Wiz.
Would rather sign Kelechi Osemele, who play play LG or LT fairly well.

I usually mock Mack to the Jags, but that is more to do with the mutual interest the two have shown each other in the past.

Would also, put a feeler out on Okung.

The word "replace" must mean something different to other folks. Wiz as depth is not a bad idea.
I thought my other posts clarified but I guess I was wrong.
Why give Cleveland a first rd pick for Joe when we can trade them Henne.

When they hire a raffle winner to be GM, you may be right.

Okung is the most injury prone tackle in the whole league.
Quote:Why would sticking with the player who single-handedly cost us a win over the NFL's worst team make sense? The same thing happened the next week too. We can't have any more snaps over Blake's head. Wiz sucks. He is not a good blocker either.

I feel like the 2nd one you are talking about was more on Blake than Wiz, assuming you're talking about the clots game. Yeah the ball wasn't in his bread basket, but it wasn't over his head either. It was still a very catchable snap that Blake got his hands on but the ball slipped off of his fingers.

I'll take an upgrade over Wiz if one reasonably presents itself, but I wouldn't be overly concerned if we had to re-sign him because of a lack of other options. He's good enough.

Osmele I'd be cool with at left guard, assuming Cann shifts inside to center. Even if Cann doesn't move, Osmele would still be an upgrade worth looking into, with Cann becoming a very solid insurance policy alongside Shatley and Bowanko.

Wouldn't touch Okung. He's injury prone and he's really not all that much better than Joeckel, if he's better at all.
Nope. Too much money for a declining Mack and that 2 round pick is too sweet to trade away.

Apparently Osemele filled in for Monroe quiet well for the Ravens as well. He could kind of kill to birds with one stone by filling the LG spot or sliding to LT if Joeckel has flashbacks of the Houston game.

Given how Monroe's played in Baltimore, blocking someone might be considered filling in quite well.
Quote:No thanks. Wiz was just as good as Mack last year outside of the fluky bad snaps.

Dont know what games you were watching.
Quote:Marks had a terrible season coming off injury, but he is on our team, so he will be just fine.

Mack had a terrible season coming off injury, but he isn't on our team, so he is done. Career over.

Aren't you use to that by now lol?

Agreed

Ah just every Browns and Jags game this past season.
Quote:I'll apologize ahead of time for this not (likely) being a quality thread. In fact, the title pretty much says it all.

I have yet to read a single post of yours that lends anything of substance to this forum. At least you're starting to realize it.

Feel better now?

After 21000 plus posts, I would think you would've been able to figure out what the ignore function was all about.

Would it sadden you too much to know that you're just not worth the effort?
