Yep, that would be the intended area to draw ticket buyers from.....probably larger. also I was being a little sarcastic.....I mean the Jags get our numbers from a much smaller area

The late Bryan Burwell saw through Stan Kroenke before practically everyone else did.  Tremendous foresight on Burwell's part,  including the difference of NFL team ownership that Shad Khan would provide,  compared to Kroenke:

Good read.. In other words we need to thank our lucky stars that we have Khan, Kroenke cared nothing about St.Louis or the fans and Rams fans have been walking on eggshells for the last 6-7 years.

  In essence,  this is my take as well.   

 

  Though,  thankfully Jacksonville is in a good position because of Shad Khan's investments in the team and the city,  it's horrific what Stan Kroenke did to St. Louis.   The fact that the NFL let Kroenke carry out his plan,  despite St. Louis coming up with public money for a new stadium,   puts a major stain on the Commissioner and the owners that initially voted for Kroenke's proposal in the secret ballot.

Again, don't lose the fact the biggest reason getting back to LA is TV, not seats.

 

As far as seats, with two teams they'll be selling 20 home games, not 10.

 

NFL is there to stay in LA this time.

Oh, I know. It'll just be entertaining to watch the home teams playing in half-full stadiums (like the Rams and Raiders were towards the end) without having the least bit of worry about being moved.

 

Although I could see the NFL downsizing LA from two teams to one down the road if attendance is absolutely abysmal and cities like San Antonio, OKC, maybe even Oakland and St. Louis grow and are willing to pay for a team.

St Louis isn't going to grow. Businesses are leaving Missouri. You throw in all the other crude from the past two years and yeah done.

It's funny to hear people speculate about Khan moving the Jaguars to St. Louis.

 

In the aftermath of the Rams relocation to Los Angeles, Khan spoke of St. Louis in the past tense.

The only thing is his use of the pronoun "we" in referring to St. Louis.

NFL is there to stay in LA this time.

Unfortunately the media won't call them out. The blackout rule is no longer in affect. So even if that happens, they won't be blacked out. No blackouts equals less coverage equals assumptions that the franchise is being supported

I find it hilarious that people still doubt that the team will be supported in the long run.

The NFL is different now then 20 years ago.

If you look at the attendance ratings for the current LA teams. they are definitely being supported. 

Money is out here to be made in LA.

I grew up in Los Angeles and did my undergraduate degree at UC  San Diego.  If they NFL leaves things alone, the Rams will be successful there but I have a feeling the Chargers are going to move there.  Problems:

1. LA can support one NFL game not two

2. Nobody in Los Angeles wants the Chargers.  Yeah I know the Chargers say 25% of their sales come from LA.  I am guessing that is probably souther Orange and San Bernadino Counties that are closer to San Diego than they are to LA.  In LA itself not so much.

3. Nobody in San Diego will support the LA Chargers

 

I lived in LA until 1996 when I moved to Florida.  Thus why I am now a Jaguars fan.  I was only in Los Angeles without an NFL team for one year.  If the city of LA can support 2 NHL teams, it can support one NFL team but only if the NFL doesn't screw it up

No they don't.  I feel for the people there.  I lived there for 5 years.  I love the Baseball Cardinals and the NHL Blues.  Only thing I picked up from my time in STL.  Please read the Burwell article about the snake Stan is and realize sometimes the city loses.  Those stadium plans were proposed for years.  Heck they are just working through the ballpark village that they wanted to be there for the All Star game.  The revenue and tax base are drying up there.  The story comments from Mr Khan are spot on when he describes the area.

 

They have a big Air Force base and beer that is now an international conglomerate.

I agree as well. As a child back in the early 70's I collected the earlier versions of those plastic NFL helmets out of the candy machines. My mom said I was relentless in pestering her for quarters for them. My favorite helmets were the Rams and the Lions, and that's what got me liking both of those teams. Later on I started watching both teams, but outside of Dickerson & Sanders there was not much to watch.


Warren Beatty was probably the most successful Rams QB during that era, and that's just sad.
