Quote:All Houston needs is a QB the caliber of Trent Dilfer and they'll contend for a Super Bowl.

Think about that for a minute while our Pro Bowl-level QB leads us to 4-12 next year.

If that's the case they would have won with Hoyer then lol. I mean their defense is good don't get me wrong but they aren't that good to carry a bad qb. They can beat up on a weak division but that's as far as it goes. The issue with them being a qb away is who can they actually get that can be solid to above average that can actually carry them to victory? They had Fitzpatrick at one point and couldn't get it done with him and he's average. There is no other free agent qb out there and any rookie that would come in would still need a few years of seasoning to be worth a damn. By that time their defense should be falling off. JJ seems to be compiling the injuries already it lol.
Bortles, ARob, and Hurns all made significant leaps forward this season

They could've had Bortles, Carr, or Bridgewater. All would be better than Hoyer. Could trade for Rivers, Brees, Cutler, or Cousins

Gosh, imagine that team with Rivers? Scary.

I'm speaking in the current since. They missed on all those drafted guys so that is gone. They could trade for someone but that would destroy their salary cap. Rivers and Brees would be great additions but they will be in cap hell quickly. Cutler wouldn't win them more games imo and Cousin would be good also I just don't see the skins letting him go. If they cant resign him they'll franchise him. I just don't see any real viable options for them right. They had the window to draft a cheap young guy and missed it.
Meh we had the best QB and offense this year by a pretty wide margin and it was against two backup caliber QB's and a rookie, and we still finished 3rd, not sure why that would change next year.

I think if we can get a defense that can stop 3rd and long maybe 50% of the time I can see us fight for division title. Hard to win if Rivers can scramble for 8 yards on a 4th and 7 lol. A few more turnovers would do wonders for this team as well.
Please fix our Defense Gus <3

Quote:I agree with the AFC South title.

This division will be ripe for the picking again next year.
If Luck bounces back, we're screwed. Pagano's proven he can win with subpar talent at QB. If Luck rebounds and restores his previous form, it'll be tough to stop Indy.

The Titans even stand an outside chance, again based on Mariota's development. The only team that really won't have a shot at the AFCE title next year, imo, is Houston. Their roster's not built for long-term success, they had a massive draft whiff in Clowney and they have as many quarterbacks as I do Maseratis, which is to say none.
Quote:We will finish with 5 wins again.
We would have had 7 wins this year if it wasnt for the kicker, we would have to try really hard to only have 5 wins

And for the guys bashing the coach, you must think are defense is loaded with talent already

If if's and but's were candies and nuts...

This staff was and is below average.

You can't blame things on the new kicker. We shouldn't have been in position to need his leg in most of these games.

There's enough talent to be average, Gus made them awful.

I still think they need a better #2 option for WR.

but yeah... Houston is a QB away. Hopefully the take a big swing and miss this offseason.

I remember back in the 2011 season we finished 5-11. People were saying that our punter cost us a couple games and that there would be no way we would have that bad a record the following year.

Then, in 2012, we went 3-13....

Morale of the story, hubris is a hell of a tyrant.

oh noo....

You are giving the Jags too much credit with a 3-13 record in 2012.

I know it's hard to do but they were actually worse then 3-13.

It was the season where Gabbert actually led the Jags to a victory over Luck, at Indy no less.

Take a look for yourself and relive the rare positive Gabbert moment in time:  http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2012092308...u=gameinfo|contentId%3A0ap1000000065428&tab=recap
