I saw David Bowie about 10 years ago, at The Santa Barbara Bowl. It was all time.
He wrote so many great songs. So many great Albums. Has his influence everywhere. Even did cool movies. The world is truly a better place because David Bowie was here.
"But Whatever lies behind the door, there is nothing much to do...Angel or Devil, I don't care, for in front of that door... There is you"

Quote:http://www.buzzfeed.com/briangalindo/the....lla10G3G6I was literally just about to post that. I've had the Rock Band vocal track in my collection for a long time, and it just so happened to come up in shuffle this morning. Made me stop for a second and really appreciate how amazing that song is even when stripped down to just the words, and how talented Freddie and David were.

I'd love to see the jam session going on upstairs tonight...

Stevie Ray Vaughan may have been an unknown without a chance meeting with Bowie. SRV played Montreux and was practically booed off stage. Backstage he was jamming with Jackson Browne and Bowie liked his sound. Bowie asked Stevie to play on his Let's Dance album and to do the tour with him. Stevie took the money from that tour to record his first album, Texas Flood, in Jackson Browne's personal studio. If you listen to Let's Dance or the end of China Girl it is easy to pick up on SRV's tone and playing. SRV went back to Montreux years later and received a much different response from the crowd the second go around.
