Simple question...

Is Weddle enough of a ball hawk for what the Jags are looking for?
Short term? Maybe for 2 years.
No... the knock on him is that he's a liability in coverage. He's a great tackler in the run game, but lately he's come down with one injury after another. I'd pass.

He's a vintage 1982 Apple II. He'll boot, but that's about it at this point.

A few seasons ago,  I would definitely have said yes.   I have significant doubts in the present and moving forward.
He's a hundred times better than any guy currently on the roster. He would be an adequate patch for a season or two if they draft a young guy like Ramsey.
I would have liked him better when Jeans Miff was too cheap to make a legitimate offer to him last time he hit free agency.
No and no

Nope, get Ramsey or Gipson.

Edit: How come no one is talking about Tashaun Gipson? Am I missing something or was he awful this past season? He went to the Pro Bowl in 2014 and led the league in interceptions twice.

Gipson is the guy we have a realistic chance of landing. I'd rather have Jalen Ramsey but Gipson would be great too

Granted I haven't seen a ton of him, but I haven't seen sideline-to-sideline range. He looks more like a "stand deep and ballhawk" type.

He's just very good in coverage and doesn't allow explosive plays. That's something that our defense really needs, excellent coverage skills and INT's.
Weddle/ Gipson would both be big upgrades. Yes to both.
Weddle is an aging patch, but would be a considerable upgrade and needed veteran.

He's worth a 2 year deal.

Yes, I mean ideal you want to draft Jalen (and have him be as good if not better than Weddle but that is a gamble) as Weddle you know can play....
