Does everyone here agree that we can't go wrong with Cordy? I'm thinking that if Von Miller and Eric Berry are franchised, but Cordy isn't, the massive LT just might be our top target. For a guy standing 6'6", 345, Cordy is incredibly athletic as a former basketball player who allowed only one sack this past season, and he's only 26 years old. To make Blake's passing game work, he needs time in that pocket, and I can't think of a better player to give him that time.

The big question is if the Bills let him hit free agency without tagging him. It's unlikely, but the franchise tag cost for an OL in 2016 will be something like $13.8 mil. Just maybe they'll say that's too much considering they're already over the cap for next year.

The Mario WIlliams money is going to go to Glenn. I think it's as simple as that.

But Mario is a free agent so it's not like letting him walk is saving anything. They're still over the cap. Even looking at overthecap.com which projects rollover savings, the Bills are the only team over the cap although they're estimating a $150 mil cap that could be as high as $154 mil giving them a couple mil in space. The bottom line is the Bills would have to make huge moves to free up enough money to franchise Cordy, and at that point they'd have no money to do anything else.

Mario isn't a free agent though...

Oh...

I thought he was because he keeps being mentioned in free agency threads.

Yeah, it looks like the Bills would save about $12.4 mil by releasing him.

The Bills announced they were cutting him (Mario Williams).

He will be resigned.

Glenn's got as much chance of hitting the open market as Von Miller does so...

Oh yeah, well I say Glenn is twice as likely! 1% for Von, 2% for Glenn. So there. /sarcasm
I don't know. Even if they cut Williams he would surely have some sort of cap hit. They are half a million over the cap currently. It sounds like they would be releasing a number of quality players to be able to keep him and then they would still be pressed up against the cap.

7 mil dead money but that still saves them 12.9 mil...according to that link. That'll be enough to keep Glenn one way or another.
If there is any chance whatsoever in signing him, you give him market rate. I would be very surprised if he hits free agency.

If he hits the market, he'll go far above market rate.

I guess a franchise tag would be an option but man they would be right up against the cap again lol. They have a very poor management team up there.

I was implying the market would be high for the top available LT in free agency. But.. yeah..  you get him.
