I would hope those three free agents are:
1. Eric Weddle
2. Olivier Vernon
3. Trumane Johnson
To go a little further l'd like us to go and bring in a few lower level guys on the defense like Mike Neal, Vinny Curry, BJ Raji and Danny Trevethan as all of them are young and could be acquired at very decent deals. Then go to the draft and get either Ramsey or Hargreaves and a linebacker in the second. This would have this defense completely stacked.
Fowler Vernon Neal Curry
Marks Bennet
Miller Raji
Odrick Alualu
Smith
Poz Trevathan
Skuta (second rounder either Smith or Spence)
House Colvin Marshall/McCray
Weddle
Sample/Cyp
Johnson Ramsey/Hargreaves

Mike Neal just got a contract extension,Vinny Curry should get a pretty nice payday, have heard about Raji in years, i really like Trevathan but i dont consider him a lower level guy by any stretch.

When I say lower level guys I mean players that will get 4-6 million a year. Curry and Raji are worth about that. You are thinking about Mike Daniels that got the extension. Mike Neal is another outside line backer that has 4 sacks on the year and fits the prototype of a leo at 6'3 262 pounds. He would get a contract of similar value. Trevathan will get something in the realm of 7-8 million which is little high for him. I think he is another player that benefited from having Miller, Ware, Wolfe, Ray, Harris and Talib around him but a quality starter in his own right.

You are right about Neal, that is my bad! About Trevathan, that guy is sometimes the best player on their defense he has games likes Telvin does sometimes where every tackle its Trevathan, with that being said he sometimes doesnt play up to those standards and before this year has had injury problems. He can also cover pretty well from what i have seen but idk about his ability to rush the passer because they have Ware/Miller/Jackson/Barrett/Ray/Wolfe to do that

That's why I would slot him in that 4th mlb role to split snaps with poz, especially on passing downs. Also his eventual replacement and still draft a Lb in the second round to have a quality rotational guy who may can battle with Skuta.
Well he starts for Denvers defense so idk if he would want to come here and be a rotational guy
We need a real front 7 before we can throw our CB's under the bus. Poz is old and is becoming more of a liability especially in coverage. Both safety spots are suspect. I like the idea of bringing in a pass rusher and FS/SS. I think we draft Poz's replacement. We should have just paid Daryl Smith. He is still better than anyone on our team at LB.

Thats a negative ghost rider
Quote:Greg Hardy if he's past his off the field [BAD WORD REMOVED]. He's a Beast when chasing the QB even if he isn't a choir boy
Nope. Unless they plan to take him on the Kismet and leave him in the middle of the Atlantic
Quote:Yeah. 22 sacks, 3 picks, 2 TDs, and 4 forced fumbles in 4 years is a "bust".
AWESOME 1st round pick pass rusher numbers for a guy in his 4th year, bro!!!
1. The best pass rusher on the market
2. The best 2 safety's who hit the market. If by miracle Berry hits the market throw the check book at him.
Awesome numbers for someone considered a "bust" pal!

Well I did say eventual replacement
Quote:What gets me is that not only will the elite guys not make it, but that somehow we are expected to land the top 3 or 4 guys that do make it as if no other team in the league is allowed to sign FA also. Rinse/repeat annually.
We have the money to outbid other teams so why not target the best?
Quote:in my dreams Berry, Irvin, Hali for one year
Hali? Are you mad? He's so slow now it's sad. He's past his prime and he'll probably retire with the Chiefs. I just completely can ignore any football opinions you have with that quote. My lord.

I'm sure we'll try, but we outbid everyone for Cobb and McCourty last year too, and they both chose less money to stay with their teams. That could easily happen again.

They wouldn't have visited or been looking if they weren't interested in a deal. Caldwell simply did not offer enough more than what they could get back home to make it worth it for them. This year Caldwell has the cap space to offer that extra bit more to make the difference.
Danny Trevathon
Mario Williams
Weddle/Berry/Gibson
