Obviously Cyprien must be replaced, as even his own teammates have critiqued his play. Cash is a great option in the 2nd round. He is an instinctual, in-the-box safety who can just shut down an opposing running game pretty much all to himself. He is what we had hoped Cyp would develop into. He's a 3 time All-American and won ACC DPOY over guys like Ramsey and Lawson, who has drawn comparisons to Kam Chancellor for his play. This guy takes the perfect angle every time, to the point that he makes it look easy.
Would rather see what Sample has a SS and bring in a FS

I'd like to see more of Sample as well, but he's not even close to Cash as a prospect

I agree but id like to see Sample before we spend another high pick on a SS prospect. If we get a FS in FA I wouldnt mind it but I dont want 2 rookie safeties starting next year. If he is there in the 3rd I would def. take a hard look at Cash or if we traded up into the late 2nd
Looks more like he's better suited at LB than S.

With his wrist injury, I wouldn't be surprised if he slipped into the late 2nd or early 3rd. Ideally, I think we look to trade back in the 1st round to somewhere in the 10-18 range and try and nab Gipson or Weddle or Berry to play FS. It's just too important of a position to trust to a rookie, especially in a "make or break year" for Bradley. Cash is a phenomenal fit in the Kam Chancellor role and I wouldn't be at all shocked if he ended up in Jacksonville.

One thing to keep in mind is that GA Tech runs the Paul Johnson offense and throws maybe 10-12 times a game. He was going to be in the box and up on the line of scrimmage on 90+% of the snaps, but I think he probably has the ability to play 3 or 4 positions on the field. He's that smart and that versatile.
Quote:Meh
Nothing "meh" about Cash, he absolutely leaps off the tape and would be a glove like fit in this defense. I know Duke isn't as sexy as FSU or UF, but the kid was a blue chip, who transferred from Ohio State after not wanting to play for no class Meyer. He would be the best player on almost any defense in the country.
