To say that they didn't care or the games don't matter is ridiculous. It really is an insult to all of the players that played and the fans that showed up. It also takes away what Michigan and Houston accomplished, they came in prepared and whipped their opponent physically. I know what i saw from the FSU and UF bowl games, those guys played until the end. Maguire gutting it out on a busted ankle. Tabor flying around the field down 20 points. Brantley and Cox Jr blowing guys up. Derwin laying people out while his offense stumbles about. It matters to those guys. Excuses are worthless, not bowl games.

1. Mac gave certain starters and NFL guys an entire week off so that freshman (true and RS) and 2016 contributors could get meaningful practice time for next year. Guys who wouldn't be playing in this game at all. They continued to get reps even after the starters and NFL guys returned. What are the consequences?
A. It means that Mac and co. didn't prepare for this game like he would a normal regular season game. As I said, he used a lot of those practices as a early spring. The starters didn't get the same reps they normally would. For example, guys like Sandifer or Buchanon got to run with the ones on the o-line. That is valuable experience for 2 redshirt freshman. It gave them a shot to impress the coach as they will be competeing for one of the guard spots next year.
B. What do you think it tells his team about this game if he is spending so many of the practices as prep for next year rather than game planning like he normally would for an FSU or UGA?
UCF takes over the state championship, only one to not lose a bowl game.

From what i remember frank frangie saying, those guys sat out three practices. Newspaper headline - Florida whipped in bowl game, practice time spent preparing guard position for next year. You should just stop posting.

Nothing he said was a moral victory. If it's true he gave those guys time off, it's an interesting move for a coach to take. Lots of young guys on that team.

Bad QB is masking something else wrong with the Gator football team: McElwain hire is still a big question mark for me.
You should not be getting blown out of games like that. Unless the team just completely gave up the last 3 games.

Guess that's why the announcers were questioning whether Hargreaves was taking the game off since he's going to the NFL today...because the bowl games matter so much to every player.
