Quote:Also what on earth happened to Bjorn Werner?
He was never a scheme fit
Quote:Knowing Irsay, Grigson's gone within two years regardless. No coach worth a crap is going to want to work under him. Even if Grigson does find a coach who'll work with him, the best he'll get is a Mike Pettine type, someone who's just happy to have been invited to the party.

I think for the reason you mentioned,  there's at least a 60 % chance that Ryan Grigson gets fired in the hours, days,  or weeks after the regular season ends.   Even if that happens,  the question then becomes will Jim Irsay be willing to stay in the background like he did for the most part when Bill Polian was the G.M.  than he did since he fired Polian?

I recall that for the early part of the 2013 winter,  Bjorn Werner was projected as one of the top picks in the entire draft.   It's apparent that every team that passed on him is happy they did.

Some board members wanted him, but they probably were FSU fans.

I never saw him as a top guy. Looked too much like he was a product of effort and talent surrounding him. The first round is for guys with top level physical ability and can make things happen for everyone around them, not for guys that fight hard in college and benefit from everyone around them playing well.
Wait a minute. Wait just a dang minute. Are you gonna sit there and tell me that an NFL coach got fired because his team wasn't producing satisfactory results?

Get out of here with that crap. That is just unfair.

Yeah, imagine if the Jaguars did such a thing. There'd be riots in the streets.

I'd attribute it more to the fact that Irsay is a spoiled butthole, but that's just my opinion.
Hopefully the Clots keep Grigson, and he continues to draft them into the ground.
Better get away from that dumpster fire while he can

LOL They probably will keep Grigson because so far there have been few or no reports about his job security.

He's a fall guy IMO. Bad drafting did that team in. Same with Jim Caldwell. Any coach is going to have a hard time winning if Manning or Luck goes down, but bad drafts left them with barely any talent to help at least ease the pain. In defense of Pagano he managed to squeeze 6/7 wins out of that roster. Reminds me of Coughlin somehow winning 6 games with a scrub squad.
The thing is they have won more with the backups than Luck. That's a sign of solid coaching, Luck was playing worse than any other qb in the league when he got injured (Mallet maybe the exception). Werner, Richardson and Dorset is just awful drafting/trading 1st rounders.

Also sounds like Grigson was involving himself in coaching matters, such as making him play Richardson. Not a good situation for the coach. I don't think they will attract a well known coach unless Grigson is gone.
