Quote:I don't agree. I did. Very strongly, actually.

However, if it were up to the fans Ron Rivera would've been out of a job 2 years ago when they were winning 5 games a year. If we're pointing out Bradley's shortcomings as a HC we must look at what he's delivered as well. Which is a near perfect offense. 2 1k receivers, almost a 1k rookie rusher and an offense putting up numbers we haven't seen in years.

The defense is in need of a of an overhaul. Sure. We all know that. Not fair to fire Bradley because the talent isn't there. He's dealing with what he's given. Marks and Fowler are out and the guys who play LEO are below average rotational talents at best. If you can't get pressure it will hurt you. He's a former DC and knows that more than anyone. When your leading sack guy is a CB you know talent is lacking.

He deserves another season to give the defense a patch job. Then see what happens.

Ron Rivera won more games in his first year as HC of the Panthers than Gus has ever won in a season here.  They went 6-10 and in year 2? 7-9.  In year 3 they went 12-4.

How about year 4? 7-8-1 and now he's 14-1.
Quote:Gus will be gone when they start losing money and chanting "Fire Gus!" No one wants to go to games and watch a perennial loser lead the team to multiple losses. I like Gus, he has a great personality, but he's just not a good football coach from what we've seen. You can argue that he's improved, but I don't think 12-35 is acceptable. This was the easiest season by far and somehow we managed to get only 5 wins, not to mention how gut wrenching they were. Our defense has significantly regressed from last year and I don't think its because of Marks being out. Telvin had his best season, Poz was still very good, House was good, and so was Colvin. That's it. Our younger players had another year under their belt to show us what they've learned, but they were worse. It's a mixture of bad defensive coaching and trying to run a scheme without the personnel. We also missed on a lot of our picks for defense, which sucks.

You think Telvin smith was worse this year than last? You don't think Marks matters?? You wouldn't think Fowler would have been a massive upgrade over Clemons???

Who exactly regressed? Cyp takes a lot of heat but he was really laying the wood out there.

Panthers didn't rip everything to shreds and rebuild from nothing.

Your whole point of them only winning 5 games a year was wrong from the start.  Don't argue semantics with me.

Exactly. Show me where what Caldwell did was ever done before. There's no precedent. Look at how many rookies were starting last year lol.
Gus is staying, The last 3 drafts have been overwhelmingly on the offensive side of the ball and the number have proven it was successful. I agree that our defense should not have regressed as much as it has under the expertise of a DC as HC, but its not fatal blow to the team... the offense has many many years of greatness to come and if Caldwell and Gus can do for the defense what they have done for the offense over the next 2 years... Jaguars are going to be considered contenders for a while.

Kahn didn't fire him but what he did do is put Paul Casey Gus Bradley's head on the chopping block. That statement in a nutshell, win or else!!! Shad said he has high expectations for next year. I will adjust my expectations to align with khans. Playoffs or get the hell outta here.
Quote:Hmm that would be nice if you could go ahead and fetch those so we can discuss.

Fetch what? Read my post again. Your saying the Broncos, Jets, Bengals, Chiefs, and tin horns don't have some of the better defenses in the AFC?
Quote:Who's the architect of this defense?

Dave Caldwell but he purposely focused on the offense first, and thought we could patch the defense through FA.

The "point" was they had a losing record and fans wanted him gone. Now they hail Rivera. It's why you don't listen to a damn thing the fans say. Don't like Bradley? Root for a new team next year. He's not leaving.

Ok so who's the defensive guru?

"He better win or else" - shahid Kahn
Quote:This. But I have accepted that Khan's opinion is the only one that matters and all signs point to Gus staying.

Quote:I'm not so sure.

Quote:Khan just confirmed that Gus is back next year.

Well then.................

Sure they wanted him gone but through two years he had still won 13 games and through 3 years he had won 25.

I hope to hell Gus turns it around next season and it would be a miracle if he does.  I don't wish him failure.

I just don't have any confidence in him based on his 3 years here.

Anyways back on topic here. There's no reason why Blake shouldn't be one of six starters in next years playoffs. According to shad Kahn the expectations are high. Do you see Blake as one of the playoff starters next year?

I said Telvin was very good, never said he regressed. Marks matters a lot, but he shouldn't make or break the defense. Fowler wasn't here last year, so this is the same exact defense without Marks and it was awful, even though Telvin and Poz had pro bowl seasons.
Quote:If what you're saying is true you fire the d-coordinator, not Gus. This season has not been a disaster to warrant Gus being fired. Not with all the offensive achievements and many games being one possession losses.

I appreciate your rosey out look on Gus, I really do. But the clear lack of preparation falls on the head coach. The team on both sides of the ball still look confused on certain key downs and situations. That's the head coach's fault.

Did you see the shot gun snap into bb5's junk this Sunday? This is either the third or fourth botched snap in as many weeks---IN A ROW.

You'd think the head coach would have corrected the issue the first week. But he didn't. 3 or 4 weeks in a row with the same stupid mental error based on a lack of preparation.

A good head coach would have that problem locked down after the first mistake...

I'm sorry, but the guy is not head coach material. He doesn't know how to prepare his team and he doesn't know how to get the best out of his team. It's just not good enough.

He's gotta get the int issue under control. Is he cuts down the ints by 25 percent and maintains everything else, he's a pro bowl qb.

As for playoffs... It's a team sport, and I don't think bb5 is good enough yet to carry the defense to the playoffs.
