I would be 100% on board with this. It's become clear Joeckel is not the answer.
I'd rather have Cordy Glenn, much better player. I think our 2016 O-line will be Glenn, Cann, Alex Mack, Brandon Linder, Parnell
Quote:Harp harp harp....
I would bet my bottom dollar, our Oline next year is
Joker, Linder, Mack/Wiz, Cann, Parnell
or
Joker, Cann, Wiz/Mack, Linder, Parnell
And I'm willing to bet, having Linder next to him, will help Joker a lot more than having Beadles next to him.
I think you're right and Linder stays where he was dominating prior to the injury.
Why the hell do people think Linder is switching to LG when he comes back. Where is this coming from?
He's not. Linder is our RG as soon as he is healthy.
And Cann is our LG.
Luke will be our LT and Parnell will be our RT.
Center will be whoever they go get.

Bingo bango.
Mack will make a boatload of money while repeatedly being thrown into Blake's lap. I really hope there is some alternative to getting Mack.
Signed,
A Jags and Browns fan
Glad to see a few others are a bit nervous about signing Mack this offseason as well. He played pretty poorly this season and I'm scared it will be worse here.
Okung I'd also pass on.
To get Mack to opt out of his contract with the Browns we will have to give him yet another record breaking raise for a guy who is now two years older, suffered a major injury, and has played just average. Thanks but no thanks.

I'm sure Mack will be much improved next year playing for a team that isn't an embarrassment.
He will be healthy and have some pride about his team again. He's a significant upgrade over wiz.
I also believe there will be a discount maybe not a lot, but we have to spend money anyway,)because of his down season and his desire to get out of Cleveland.
Quote:At the very least, I believe Russell Okung will hit the open market in 2016. The Seahawks have so much invested in other players on their roster that it would seem like they won't be able to use the Franchise Tag on Okung. Being that the demand for LTs on the NFL level is higher than the supply, it would make sense for Okung to at least test the FA market. There are many teams that can afford to pay him more than the Seahawks can.
If we are looking at short term fixes to LT from the free agency market, keep an eye on Andrew Whitworth. The Bengals drafted two T prospects high this year, and it isn't a stretch to suggest one is being groomed to replace Whitworth. Whitworth is in his 30s, but still played at a high level this season. I think he is better and more durable than Okung.
Quote:Likely we get Mack at center and move either Linder to LG to keep Cann comfortable at RG or switch Cann to his original position and Linder takes back over at RG
I could definitely see this happening. I see Cann at LG, Mack at C, and Linder at RG.
Meh.. If somehow Cordy Glenn actually hits the market, I would be interested.

He would be my first choice at LT, but I don't see him hitting the market. I think Mario Williams gets cut, saving the Bills enough cap space to keep Glenn.

Yes because professionals love playing like crap to make less money at their next location. Mack was put on the trading block and Mack put the brakes on it. So he had an out.
I have had the privilege of watching him get manhandled by subpar DTs and stepping on his teammates' feet while trying to help in double teams.

1. He's coming back from an injury.
2. This is his first sub-stellar year.
3. If you actually have been watching, you would see he has been improving over the course of the season.
Quote:Probably but not by much. Also Okung is extremely injury prone.
No to Okung unless its a cheap deal.
In what world do we get free agents on "cheap deals"?

lol. of course. who wouldn't?

Marks was cheap.

Oh I have been watching and he is not getting better. I have watched every game this year. His blunders are going more unnoticed because Cam Erving is an even bigger turnstile than Mack.
30 year olds who are starting to fall apart are not the folks you choose to bet the bank on.

I disagree in this instance and I think your opinion in him improving is pretty far off.
Well clearly we disagree. Go watch some of the Browns games this year and just focus on Mack. Seeing the pro bowler get steam rolled and accidentally tripping his teammates will be a treat.
