That would be a shame.

Too much fan voting and he's not a "name" yet.

Those are two statistics. Fans want more catches and yards than he has. They already are familiar with many other receivers and vote for them because of their names. It is a shame, but someday he will get there. I hate fan voting.

<p style="color:rgb(41,47,51);font-family:'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;">QB Blake Bortles has 64 completions of 20+ yards, the most in the @NFL in 2015. Previous record by a @Jaguars QB was 44 by Brunell/Garrard.

Fan voting shouldn't be part of the process, but fantasy football should help someone like Robinson who has scored a ton of points this year. He's ranked 6th for WRs in PPR leagues and 5th in non-PPR leagues. Not only should he make it, I think he will.

As much as I want our players to make the pro-bowl and be known, I feel like we're better off if they don't. It'd suck to see ARob or Telvin tear their ACL or something weird in a meaningless pro bowl game.

I'd rather seem them passed over for these accolades. Keep 'em hungry. We don't need no redneckognition.

Great players will stay hungry, if going to a pro bowl will have a guy turning into Justin Blackmon then he wasn't the guy the team needs from the start.
On the other hand, incentives for these players can often by achieved through things like pro bowl qualification. I'd much rather see Jaguars players get recognized and benefit from it.

More Pro Bowl players means more National Attention.
This usually results in more revenue and more Nationally Televised games.
Helps when arguing how to rank someones career against the best players. Maybe finally getting players to the HOF (small reason).
Not wanting the national attention seems pretty dumb to me.

ARob should be a part of it (although it's "iffy" he'll actually get the nod).
And, fan voting absolutely SHOULD NOT be a part of that process. When a single fan can go in and vote 1000 times or more a day for a player, and then encourage fans of the same players/teams to do so as well, it just screws up the whole process IMO and takes away from players that actually should make it in.
I've been on a few forums of other teams and personally seen posts from people stating that they're continuously voting for someone and encouraging others. Sickening to me.

Fan voting now includes a lot of fantasy football players. I don't see how his stats could be ignored at all. But I haven't watched a pro bowl in years either....

Does anyone watch the pro bowl? I don't even consider it as an event for watching, more of a recognition for players.

I feel like gelvin an arob r the ap sean taylor type of pro bowlers the ones who go in with somethin to prove telvin breaks the punters neck they want that free car

That's amazing when you consider who else is throwing 20-yard passes this season - Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Andy Dalton, and Cam Newton. Who would guess Blake Bortles completed more passes longer than 20 yards than any of those guys?
Actually that post belongs in the "Records that might fall" thread because you mentioned a former franchise record.

What is PPR?
I saw headlines earlier this season about the Allens racking up a lot of fantasy points. IMO that is a good thing because it means they are getting more recognition from NFL fans, not just the media.

I think he makes it because of his fantasy numbers and the player's portion of the total vote. The players know who is having a great year.

Most votes are from fans, not players and coaches.
