Quote:No it wouldn't. Dallas has one of the best offensive lines in football, but can't do anything on the ground without DeMarco Murray.
That's a faulty example to use. Dallas has other issues offensively despite DeMarco Murray, namely QB and WR injuries.

I just could not think of a better example. Which team has a great OL and similar RB situation but no problems at QB and WR?

Hate to say it, but David Johnson is better. He's a stud.
I can't believe how right I was about him. After watching the North/South game I said he was going to be the steal of the draft and he literally was the best steal of the draft. Stud.

I can't believe how right you were about him either!! You're truly amazing!

Quote:So why was he picked near the top of the second round? RBs selected that high must be able to run long distances to live up to their pick numbers.First I'm not saying Yeldon is bad or even close to bad
However imo he was a late 2nd or early 3rd. Believe DC reached because of need

I think Yeldon would have gone top of the second. A lot of teams valued him as the 3rd best back and there was some consideration about taking him at the end of the first. Yeldon is a complete back. Watch when we have a line with better players at LG and C and see what he does.

Oh well

I agree with this. I like Yeldon, but I don't see him as a top half of the league back.

Hard to tell but I liked Johnson more in the draft

Mean while, DMC is 5th in rushing.

T.J. Yeldon is a machine behind the line of scrimmage. It's just that he's always forced to find his own holes because of how bad the run blocking is.
But watching him hit the right hole 95% of the time is magical and something rare. He has great vision.

David Johnson is legit. I noticed him in preseason and thought he looked like Adrian Peterson.

4 of the top five rushers are on bad teams. pretty horrible year for the running game

Quote:4 of the top five rushers are on bad teams. pretty horrible year for the running gameIt's a passing league.
Remember when MJD led the league in rushing? What was our record?
Rushing titles don't matter anymore. Not really.
And if you have good enough line play, anyone can run behind it. (Which is why I was a "wait until the 3rd or later for a RB" guy)
Not that I hated the Yeldon pick. I was good with it really.
But still.... the RB is not that important of a position, it shouldn't be over-drafted or over-paid.
Matt Jones, David Johnson, Devante Freeman, Arian Foster, Alfred Morris, Ellington, Mike Turner.....
late round RBs that have had some success. Some of them a lot of success.
Some of these guys have led the league in rushing.
theres more guys too... blount, Pierre Thomas....

MissJagsFanatic thinks Dallas can't do anything on the ground, yet DMC is 5th in rushing.
She don't have a clue.

Reminds me of Forte.

Remember everyone Yeldon not Henry started for Bama the last 2 years. He will be better next year and if he did not get hurt he would have had over a 1,000 yards rushing and 400 receiving. He can block fantastic also.

I have not watched much of Johnson, but I would ask a few questions.
How are his yards after contact? Yeldon looks special at this
How is his ball security? Yeldon had issues in school and has gotten much better
How is he in pass protection? Yeldon has done pretty well as a rookie.
It sounds like Johnson has the highlight runs which is great, but Yeldon is showing some nice things as a complete back.
