I know that everyone was ready to crown this team and regime after last weeks win over MATT HASSELBECK, but the reality is this team is way behind the 8 ball for year 3 of the rebuild and it ain't just personnel, as we upgraded massively in the offseason. Someone needs to be accountable for 3 straight years of losing and Gus simply MUST GO. The only reputable starting QB we have defeated in 3 seasons is Eil Manning. Don't believe me?

2013:

Ryan Fitzpatrick

Case Keenum

Brandon Weeden

Matt Schaub

2014:

Brian Hoyer

Eli Manning

Charlie Whitehurst

2015:

Ryan Tannehill

EJ Manuel

Joe Flacco

Marcus Mariota

40 y/o Matt Hasselbeck

Point is, you can pretty much count any game that isn't against a journeyman QB as a loss. INEPT
Gus sucks.

This isn't news.

This has been the problem for a long time. There's a reason why we got to the playoffs in 07 and stopped right after, that was the last year our defense was good. Smashmouth, mean as hell defense.

Flacco won a super bowl. He's reputable. This young offense is the future of the NFL. If the D improves, we are perennial playoff team

'Round these parts it seems like major news LMFAO
So basically we have a weakness against teams with above-average quarterbacks ?

Could be a problem.

Half-right. By the end of that season they had fallen off on D tremendously, as illustrated in the playoff games. They had 2 great running backs and a QB that at the time was making great decisions within the system, which covered up a lot of other deficiencies

Great. This year his team has been crippled by injuries and sucks and we also had to be gifted that win by a hair brained penalty on the last play of the game. Claim it if you want.
I agree 100%

but Ryan fitz, Brian hoyer, and joe are no slouches.
Gus has also never beat the same QB twice. Good lord is this team bad.
So we dont count superbowl winning QBs?

Fine. We beat Eli in his statistically worst season and Joe Flacco in his statistically worse season, on a miracle. Still doesn't change anything, you can argue semantics all day but you can't polish a turd that has won less than 25% of his career games.
Not going to lie, it's funny how we beat 3 QBs who have made it to the Super Bowl with 2 winning it. The post actually made me smile in that way
It ain't personnel? How quickly we forget how bad this team was the past two years.

Firing Gus now would be dumb. The team has shown massive improvement this year which is all you can reasonably ask for. 4-12 to 10-6 is not happening very often.

Also, so few Jags fans realize how DREADFUL this roster was in 2013. It was sub-expansion team caliber. To expect Gus to win at all in year 1 or year 2 was unreasonable. He probably should have won more this season but that's not a firable offense in 1 season.

The big thing is this team was competitive in the 4th quarter of nearly every game this season which is a drastic improvement over the first 2 years. The arrow is pointing up and as long as that's the case, you don't fire your coach. To do so would keep this team in the coach/QB/GM revolving door death spiral that plagues bad teams.

Bortles is equal to Flacco. Every other position the Jags were better and we STILL barely beat them. The Jags are perenially playoffs if every one else loses their starters to injury.

That's not how it works, though.

You're right. Tell that to those clamoring for the status quo.

No, I'm telling it to those who think Gus is the reason the team isn't 14-0 or whatever your expectations are.
Go Jags!
