This isn't really news. The rumor was that he was dealing with an injury when he was traded. Scobee already stated that he wouldn't sign with another team until he was rehabbed. This is reaffirmation.

How is this desperation?  I saw/heard that he was injured back when they cut him and that he wasn't looking to sign with a new team until he felt he was healthy enough to do so.

Desperate to be signed by another team, but now can't be trusted to disclose injuries that may or may not affect his performance.
