Consider this a protest vote for blank #2.

I hope Pete Rose NEVER gets back into baseball. The lying, cheatin, scum knew full well he tarnished, not just Pete Rose, but all the other players who played the game with integrity. He fully offered to leave the game permanently if the league stopped the investigation before it found evidence of his betting on baseball, which was duly accepted by the league on his request. Now he wants to break that honored agreement on his own behalf. No Way Pete. You requested and accepted an agreement now live with it.

Pete Rose and who?
Anyway, Rose is never getting back in. There's been enough said on this subject to fill this entire Message Board so I won't add to it but he did the unforgiveable in terms of the Sport. Let him stay out there.

There is a case to be made that TMD was correct with regard to most of his posts over the past 10 years related to Jags personnel moves (inclusive of GMs, Coaches, and Players)

Not really. Every GM/coach in the league runs is course and is let go. I could say that about Bradley and Caldwell and then when things look good, flip how I feel. ..a la Bortles.
He said so many things that were wrong its funny....of course he would get something right occasionally

People are still talking about TMD? he must have made one hell of a lasting impression on here for people to still be talking about him.

He did. Not all lasting impressions come from good things, though.

People don't know the back story, and that he has admitted to betting on baseball.
There was much more to this, and he owed some bad people a lot of money.
He should never, ever be reinstated.

Yeah. That's a fact. He would say 100 things, then brag until the end of the earth one thing he had right, and then run from the ones he was wrong on.

The legend of TMD still grows to this day...

Yes, he lied about the gambling, but how did he cheat? How were any other players were "tarnished" by his actions? I personally feel the image of the game was far more damaged by steroids, than anything Rose did. How can one guy's off-the-field actions even begin to compare to league-wide use of PED's, which helped players gain a competitive advantage?
For the record, I would not allow him into the Hall of Fame, but his accomplishments do belong in the record book.

I wish Ichiro had played his full career in the U.S. because I think he would have passed Rose in career hits.

I agree with Chief and Nate but Sneakers put it best, Rose's numbers should be in the books but HOF...no way.
TMD? Bash me but I liked the guy. He made you think a little and was knowledgeable, IMO. Of course, he'd go over the top on almost everything and he'd derail threads and was generally pretty obnoxious but he was spot on with some of his (many) opinions. I say bring him back and ban him again if/when he gets manic (as he surely will). Half the fun with him were the "welcome back, TMD" days when his latest ban was lifted. He'd be embroiled in some epic battle within hours after returning.
It was often great theater.

Definitely outside the box, but a certain segment and especially FBT can't stand him. Such is life. I would love to see TMD on the political stuff tho. People have been surprising me there.

Even if TMD is banned, should you really make a call out thread?
