How so? I watch five NFL games every week. You can't convince me linebackers defend passes more often than defensive backs.
Quote:How can Jordan Tripp stop a wide receiver? That is the cornerback's job.

Apparently you don't wantch alot of football, wrs run alot of short in's and outs not just deep 50 yard bombs everygame.
You can't convince her. DIDN'T YOU READ THAT!!!!

I know they do, but even then cornerbacks often get to them. It is not like only linebackers can get close enough on an out route.
Ask carolinas lbs who go fownfueld 30-40 yards in coverage on some plays.

Tripp gives us options that poz doesn't.

Poz has been good for us but definitely no where what d. Smith was for us for many years
Quote:Finally other posters get it. I have been saying all week we can't win if Julio plays unless somehow he gets hurt and can't finish the game. I don't like injuries and would feel bad for Jones if he gets hurt. Obviously if that is the only way to stop him, our chances of winning are very slim. Our jobs are to keep Atlanta's offense on the sideline and do whatever it takes to stop Jones when he plays. Why should anyone hope for injuries instead of good performances by our DBs?

Another issue I have expressed concerns about is how easily Matt Ryan can throw the ball to Jones because we have a terrible pass rush. If we can't pressure and sack Ryan, Jones will get the ball. We could not stop Ryan Tannehill, so it is impossible to see us stopping Ryan. Why are so many Jaguars fans confident we can sack him several times?

We can't win if he plays a whole game? He hasn't had a TD the past 5 games and the Falcons have lost their last 6. If the whole defense plays like it did against Indy this past week we have this.

Carolina has two of the best linebackers in the NFL. How many average to below average linebackers have you seen do what they can?

Daryl Smith was probably one of the best linebackers we ever had. He is still playing at a high level in Baltimore.
No. Julio vs the jaguar defense. No way we man up with him

He played against better defenses in the last 6 games. Our defense sucks.

Why would you wish injury upon a fantastic player like that, or anyone for that matter? Classless.

Wth are you even talking about?

I watched six.

Almost as classless as that classless Chargers call after Hurns's injury.
Quote:I watched six.

I often do too, but some weeks I only watch five, depending on the matchups (sucks sometimes that I can't get NFL Sunday Ticket). Even that is enough to know what linebackers and defensive backs do.

We had a long thread about this after the Chargers game. Many posters agreed it was not classless to challenge the play. It was just unfortunate that Hurns' injury prevented him from catching the pass.
Also got to look at schemes and what they plan to use v atl. Can't base one game off the last one

Obviously. We don't run the same scheme Carolina does. But the biggest issue is talent. Unlike Carolina, we don't have elite players at all three levels on defense. In fact, none of our starters on defense are nearly as good as their players. It will take a major scheme adjustment to do what the Panthers did.
Is MJF a troll or real?

No we don't but a decent solid group can be effective if used correctly. Maybe tripp can ve that missing piece. Poz has been nothing but a libilaty in coverage to wrs and te for the past few years.

Last week I know it was a 40 yr old wb and slim wrs but maybe the defense is starting to turn that corner.

Maybe they finally getting some confidence in themselves.

Think about teams who have great offences how are they so good even without a star te, wr, or rb. Early 2000 patriots or even steelers pre-ben.

Alot of decent guys playing together makeing the team flow like a bunch of allstars.

I think we have some solid talent on our defense but they lack confidence and experience in key areas. Getting beat 30-40 a game no matter who you are is never a confidence boost.
