Quote:I was trying to think of what WRs throughout recent NFL history Allen Hurns reminds me of, but can't pinpoint anything.

Perhaps Andre Reed ??  Pay particular attention to his moves at the 4:45 clip of the video below.  Semi lanky build and very elusive.

Quote:I don't see the Muhammad or Boldin comparison; they had / have more physicality to their game than Hurns does. Honestly, he reminds me of Marvin Harrison in that his precision and body control helps him separate from the Defender rather than his speed. Neither of them are burners, but they do have enough speed to pull away.

Quote:Marvin Harrison was lighter and didn't play with reckless abandon,  I don't think I've ever seen him break a tackle and even seen Harrison willing go down 2 yards before the sticks on a game needing 3rd and 10.  His speed was Elite too running a 4.38 40 time.  I don't know what Marvin Harrison you were watching but they play the position completely different.

Let's all just agree........He probably is a mixture of all three.

"He reminds me of a slower, yet more physical version of Marvin Harrison"

Did I win????
Quote:you mean 4.2 speed, 5-10 Joey Galloway?
Okay,, Toomer then.

But, I'm just comparing style of play and what watching Hurns "kind-of" reminds me of.

Or, is this comparison supposed to be exact measurables (height, weight, speed, vertical)? Sry, I didn't see any rules to this.
Chad Johnson minus the poop attitude.
Quote:Just watching the Jaguars so long he reminds of McCardell, I don't how their measurables stack up I'm just saying the way he lays out for the pass and doesn't worry about the hit, the way he gets YAC I watch him and he reminds me of how McCardell used to play in his prime.

I understand this. Not their measureables or even style of play, but the passion, love for the game and his team, route running excellence, role in the O, and fearlessness...definitely McCardellesque. Hurns is a Jag Jag. I adore Allen Hurns.

Yeah, I see this one. Hurns is good, regardless.

I like the TD celebration he and Allen Robinson do.

worst comparison than the Galloway one. Yikes
Jordy Nelson has virtually identical combine numbers, but I think he plays faster than Hurns. Nelson has established himself as a deep threat, but I really just think he's a crisp route runner that can beat his man and hauls in TDs with dudes draped all over him.  Anyways, he's my nomination.

this is who I have said before, I like the comparison
He's his own kind of player. He doesn't remind me of anyone, but the only close comparisons would be Dez and that's probably just because of the 88...

Michael Irvin maybe.

ARob reminds me of Jerry Rice.

Chad Johnson seems like a pretty good comparison imo.

Let's here your brilliant take. Lol

How about one for Bortles while you're at it.
Hurns=Roddy White or Braylon Edwards

Arob= young Larry Fitzgerald
Quote:Can't he just be Allen Hurns?  Serious question.  Why does he have to remind you of someone?
That type of question..." who does (insert players name) remind You of"?

Is something a lot of people ask.....

Idk what the true motive is... But i think its them wanting to [BLEEP] or establish that players credibility

"assess" lol i misspelled and ( bad word removed ) showed in its place....
Allen Hurns is good enough that if Robinson weren't on the field he'd still be putting up these numbers.

I know yall will disagree but Martin Harrison.

He gets off the line with ease. He turns the CB around. He stays open. And he isn't a diva.
Hurns is like an Ed McCaffrey type. Not a blazer. Not an "exciting" player. A good, tough, physical guy who makes plays. Actually, the Rod Smith comparison is pretty good too

MARVIN Harrison is a sociopathic murderer, so ummmm yeah
